There is no escaping the dark cloud of being a VP of an extremely unpopular president. Too bad for Vance. He had a future. He should have stuck to his true feelings which were very much so anti-Trump feelings instead of accepting Trump's VP offer.

He didn't have a future. He took a risk and hitched his wagon to Trump. Without that move, he's just another permanent back bencher Senator at best. He doesn't have the native political talent to get to the highest echelons by virtue of his own gifts.
