I am 51 and feel great!!!!!!!

Hello fellow women who are 50 and more,

I feel great because I accept all this changes, not easy though because I do feel hot flashes, depression, sleepless nights, tired and more but we need to deal with them what other choice do we have, we cant turn the clock only in movies you can, I drink more water, try to sleep better, exercise, tofu, soy milk, love more whine less, love your job, it is a hard change but if we are mature about it it wont be so bad, its natural like whe n you were a teen ager and you got your period, you didnt stop it did you? so try to make the best out of it, good luck

I totally agree with your attitude. I actually was lucky enough not to have hot flashes, but did have insomnia. Fortunately that has passed for me. I think there is so much hype about how bad menopause is - people get totally freaked out about it - but not everything is going to happen to you - and many symptoms last for a while and then stop. Exercise, eat healthy, surround yourself with positive people, be grateful and move on with life. Besides it is a wonderful feeling to walk down the "sanitary products" aisle and know you won't need that stuff again!

Wish I were there. I look around and see all of these beautiful, youthful looking 20, 30 even 40 somethings, and think, no matter how hard I work I will never look like that again. I look in the mirror and see ... middle age .... my mother ....

Hard to deal with the way it shows in my face but I work out a lot and I feel stronger than I did in my 40s and that makes a huge difference. I feel great, too, OP!

Me too. And people, my doctor included are always surprised that at my age, I have no health problems, take no medications, don't get sick and only see the doctor once a year for the annual physical.

Thanks OP. I'm 49 and need to hear this pep talk! I'm wondering if menopause isn't a little like pregnancy, childbirth, post partum, etc. in that it's all a matter of perspective. I heard so many horror stories of P & C but when I went through it, both were a piece of cake and I bounced back quickly. I'm hoping menopause will be the same way....

Well age comes anyway unless you want to stretch your face, neck, boobs and everything else, I think we leave in a society that wants us to look perfect and never age, so what can we do? its a difficult answer, we have to like ourselves more, yes younger people look cute but they wii face the same someday and its a circle, then we should all live alone in fear our husbands will find the young one, no we cant live like this

remember you were also young and hot some time ago, but dont let go,k eep pretty, have a nice haircut, highlights, go to the gym, eat well and think its all a natural process to age, f you have the money try some injectables around the mouth, i took my spots from my hands, there are a lot of things to age gracefully, and also remember now you are wise not trying to fit in, you are happy with yourself, so cheer up aging is not easy but it can be fun, mostly take good car eof your health
