Does seeing a spelling or grammatical error in the title of a post reduce its credibility for you?

Yay or nay?

It does for me, instantaneously. There it is, and no, I can't help it.

I can't take time to ponder this. I'm trying to loose weight.

I think your post is pretentious.

YES!! Punctuation errors also bother me especially the one about SAHM's (sic) and higher education.

You might mean "you're post"? Or "ur post"!

It's credibility is not at all reduced.

I recently made a mistake in a post title. I usually proofread my posts pretty carefully but I realized after I did it that I don't usually look back at the box with the title because it is separated from the main body of the post. I was teased mercilessly about it by other posters. I thought it would have bothered me, but it was actually pretty easy to laugh off because I know myself and my writing skills. I am now much more forgiving of other people's mistakes. We all have careless moments. A post on DCUM isn't your CV or a cover letter for a job. I try to look beyond the mistakes to see what the person was trying to say.

Your sooooooooo write.

It only bothers me if the person is trying to prove a point or trying to convice us of something.

Typo, no. (Such as "do" in place of "so", "teh", that sort of thing. It happens to all of us.) Grammatical error, ("recommend you're toy kitchen!", the aforementioned SAHM's) yes, absolutely.

I made a grammar mistake once too. It definitely hurt my credibility since people debated my stupidity instead of the question I was asking. In reality, I'm not stupid. I was just tired and careless.

If a whole post is filled with errors, it might lose credibility. The random error or WOHM's errors really don't bother me at all. It is a message board, people are tired and off the clock.

Definitely. Although some of the iphone auto correct spellings, which seem to be on the rise, are rather comical.

You sound annoying and in a field that values grammar over end products and results

Anyone else get a chuckle out of this response? Basic grammar really is a lost art.
