| Does anyone know where I could find cute DND signs or door hangers for my office at work? I am one of the lucky few with a door that closes and locks but would like to let people in my small office know why I am keeping it closed. Thanks! |
| I use a very cute piece of yellow legal pad paper that says "Please do not disturb. Thank you" on it in green marker. And I use a fetching piece of scotch tape to affix it to my door. |
Okay, snarky and SOOOO funny. OP, I hope you aren't offended. This made me laugh out loud. |

Check these out, and use google for more...

Same here. Frankly it never occurred to me to let people know why I am keeping the door closed, let alone make the sign cute. |
| Having a note on my door made people more curious/suspicious than if I just shut/locked it for 20 minutes. |
| I agree with PPs on this one. It would be weird in my office to advertise what I was doing, and to do so with a "cute" sign, even weirder. But maybe you work in a different environment. |
Op, save yoru money and just close the door. Unless you plan to say, "please do not disturb- I am pumping" having a sign-up will just create rampany speculation on what you are doing behind closed doors. Personally, I would assume you were in there sleeping or screwing someone (like at a hotel). |

I made a word document saying "Working Mom-Please do Not Disturb" and a clip-art picture of a dairy cow.
I still got asked, though. I think even if you had a sign reading "I AM USING A MECHANICAL PUMP TO EXPRESS MILK FROM MY BREASTS TO FEED MY INFANT CHILD" someone would still ask. |
| PP here - should have added, I think some sort of sign is a good idea. Otherwise people will just walk on in. |
Not if OP uses the door lock which she says she has. |

When I was at my old firm, I used a small piece of paper right below the doornob (of my non-locking office!). It said: PLEASE DO NOT ENTER.
I found "Do not disturb" was somehow too gentle, and people would knock on my door, or occasionally open it just a crack. Just my 2 cents, but I would NOT let people know what you're doing. It's personal. It's not business related. And it makes many people uncomfortable. Believe me, they will figure it out eventually anyway, and that's the preferred way to have them figure it out. Avoid the cutesy signs too. Put a piece of paper on your door and lock it. |

I saw a door-hanger sign once that said "if you open this door, we'll both be embarrased."
But it never occurred to me to post anything. I went out on maternity leave, and when I came back, I started closing my door for 20 minutes at a time three times a day. There was absolutely no mystery to what I might be doing in there. My door doesn't lock, but in in eight months, I've never had someone walk in. |
Funny! Sounds like the OP doesn't have any issues with her co-workers knowing what she is doing but just wants a cute way to let them know that she is locked away for that reason. If you are positive it won't make anyone uncomfortable, then i would tear the "got milk" ad out of a magazine and tape your picture and your baby's picture over the actors facees. |

guess what. "cute" and "work" don't usually go together, unless you work at the mall at Libby Lu.
Get over your bad self and just pump without the whole world knowing. I feel like this post was a joke anyway. I loved the responses to it too, especially the one where someone said to put a sign up saying "I AM PUMPING MILK FOR MY INFANT CHILD" or something. I still can't stop laughing. |
