I have been trying to find some jeans. All of the regular boot legs are way too long, and the short boot legs are a bit too short.
I'm 5'3'' and a size 6-7, depending upon the brand. Is this a common problem? I always see people out and about with perfect-length jeans and wonder if most people just get them hemmed. |
| I really like the jeans at The Limited and they come in different lengths...the "short" version is perfect for me to wear with flats. I normally buy a pair of "regulars" as well and have them hemmed to wear with heels/boots. (I normally wait until they have a buy one pant, get one free or 50% deal to purchase them.) If you are in NOVA, I have been pleased with the tailor at the small shoe repair shop upstairs around the corner from Hallmark. |

| I just bought new jeans at Gap for the first time in probably 5-6 years (two kids in the meantime). I used to always wear the regular length but now they're way too long and the ankle length was just right. I'm a little over 5'4", so it might be worth a try if you haven't shopped with them in a while. |
| I'm 5'4" but long-torsoed (ie, stumpy-legged) and can only wear Petites/Short/Ankle/etc jeans and trousers. |
| I'm 5'3" and short-legged and even Gap ankle length is sometimes too long for me! Banana Republic is better. |
| I'm 5'2" and wear either Gap or Old Navy ankle length jeans although sometimes even they can be a touch too long if I'm wearing them with ballet flats. |
|
I'm your height and have the same issue. I've had luck with J Crew "S" length. They are long enough for me to wear with heels. I have both the cords and the jeans.
|
| I'm 5'2" and I almost always get jeans hemmed (exception is GAP ankle-length). I usually go to Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's and have them hemmed with original hem restored. They charge around $20 and will hem jeans purchased from other stores. |
|
I'm 5'5" and the JCrew matchstick jeans in S length also work for me. They are a little too long with flats and just right with heels. Their toothpick ankle length jeans are pretty good, too, but they are not bootcut.
But usually I expect to get my jeans hemmed. The pair that I use for hanging out is usually an inch shorter so that I can wear them to the park and not drag them in the mud. |
| I'm 5'6" and usually not if the inseam is 32". I find that jeans shorten just a little bit after a few washes. However, the designer jeans with 34" inseams are just ridiculous. Those I would need to get hemmed. Frankly, one reason why I avoid buying the more expensive jeans is because it'll take forever for me to get around to actually getting them hemmed. |
| What's really sad is I'm 5'8" and I've had to get two pairs of jeans hemmed recently. One was long and lean style from the gap (and when they say long I guess they really mean it, although i had an older version of the L&L that were the perfect length), and the other were trouser jeans from Loft. The highest heels I have are boots with a 2.5 heel, and I like wearing them with jeans sometimes but can't be restricted to just those. I don't know who they're making these jeans for. Isn't the average height getting lower? |
| I'm also 5'8" and am always shocked when jeans are too long. Unlike pp, I'm too lazy to get them hemmed, so I just don't buy them. |
| I'm way to lazy to get stuff hemmed. If it's too long, I just wear with heels (I'm 5'9 though). I do have a pair that I love to wear on the weekend with flats that I should get hemmed, instead I just roll the bottom up- so stylish! |
LOL! I'm the PP above, and the only reason I got them hemmed was because I ordered both pairs online and when they arrived and were too long, I was too lazy to ship them back. It was less effort to walk down to the dry cleaner and get them hemmed...
