Do you usually have to shorten your jeans?

I'm 5'6 and a size 8. I pretty much always have to get my jeans hemmed. Some are ok with tall heels but I don't always feel like wearing tall heels. I just bought a pair of high waist bell bottoms from J. Crew that I swear we're made for a 6-foot woman in 4-inch heels.

The key is to find a seamstress that will keep the original hem of the jeans, and to make sure you don't buy jeans that need to be hemmed so much that you will lose the "cut" of the jean. Also, was and dry them 3-4 time before having them hemmed.

Another jcrew S wearer here. If I'm buying another brand, yes, always hemming. I'm 5'5".
