Click on around the 4:00 mark to watch him throw his daughter under the bus. This is your party, Republicans. Family values, yada yada yada.

Pretty much. Even the republican / conservative women are like this. I know, my own conservative mother did not believe I was assaulted as a child and didn't do anything about it. I'm not surprised at all.

And that is why women don’t report or even tell their parents or closest friends.

I have a cousin who has a reputation for being dramatic and has been clearly found to be lying about various things, including a sexual assault that she claimed to have witnessed that definitely did not occur. If she claimed to have been sexually assaulted, I would probably wait for evidence. I have other relatives who I would believe simply because I have known them personally for many years and have never known them to lie about stuff like this.

Most people haven't met Prof. Ford and don't have the luxury of being her close relatives or being able to automatically believe her without evidence to support her allegations. If your ultimate argument is that we should automatically believe any allegations without proof, you are wasting your time and you are living in the wrong country.

I fear his confirmation means he will never admit he has a drinking problem. Stakes are too high now and it will be too public.

Exactly what evidence to you have that he has a drinking problem? Sounds like more delusional thinking

His behavior, such as minimizing his drinking and projecting drinking problems onto other people (e.g., Klobuchar) are suggestive of a drinking problem. Plus he has the puffiness and ruddy complexion you often see in people who drink too much.

Exactly -- and anyone who has ever dealt with drunks knows this and has seen it - family members, medical and mental health professionals and cops.

Because in America MEN are in power, not the little ladies who don’t want to do all the hard work of being on the Judiciary Committee. So sit down and shut up, you silly girls.

We do have the benefit of statistics, however. And statistically speaking about 2% of rapes reported are false accusations versus two thirds of rapes which are never reported and the fact that about 1 in 6 women is rape or someone attempts to rape her.

Your cousin, prone to lying already, is actually typical of false charges. Teenagers, too, who might have other motivations (like not getting in trouble). But that doesn’t mean that Dr. Ford - a credible, well-respected professional with everything to lose - isn’t credible. And that we haven’t been told what Judge had to say suggests that De. Ford is very much correct.

Don’t forget that when the Wapo first “introduced” him that his bartender was the main quote. Not really suggestive of someone who doesn’t booze regularly.

Your cousin and your perception of her have nothing to do with Christine Ford.

No one AUTOMATICALLY believed or believes her. Those who did and do - like, let’s see, Chris Wallace of FOX, stunned speechless at how credibly she presented - took information in for themselves courtesy of her testimony. Those who did and do believe Debbie Ramirez relied on not only the flawless reputations of Jane Meyer and Ronen Farrow and The New Yorker, but also the sworn statements and interviews of her fellow Yale classmates, those who knew her and Brett, including his roommates and drinking partners. Including the BigLaw partner who is now collecting death threats for demonstrating texts showing Brett feared this story emerging.

You are a deeply dishonest person. To the bone.

This is a town that voted for Trump, guys. Ha ha.

I've been hearing a lot of stories like this. They are the stories about Trump that Democrats ignored in 2016. We've learned our lesson. Have the Trumpists?

I am not sure where Kavanaugh is barred but there appears to be several legitimate grounds for disciplinary sanctions by jurisdictions where Kavanaugh holds license(s). This would be an administrative proceeding (with less strict rules of evidence) with lower standard of proof than a criminal proceeding. Once he is suspended for misrepresentation to the senate and other potential violations of rules of professional conduct, he cannot serve as a justice.

This is much easier than impeachment and removal, especially the removal part which requires 2/3 of the senate.

Lisa Murkowski’s facebook page has been flooded with rape threats after her no vote.

Yeah, the Republicans are so very civil and decent, family values types. /s

This is why women vote Democratic.

It’s disgusting. I don’t agree with Murkowski on many other policies but I have a lot of respect for her doing the right thing here. In contrast, I’ll pribably donate to help unseat Susan Collins. She seems to have lost her so called moderate tendencies after Snowe retired.

No, plenty of women vote for Trump and Republicans anyway.

There are disgusting people on both sides.

Cory Gardner’s wife was texted a horrible graphic depicting a beheading and someone posted the names and addresses of his family members online.
All of these people should be identified, charged, and get a penalty bigger than a menial fine.

Doesn’t help when Trump is tweeting angrily about Murkowski. He is absolutely fostering this climate and his fellow Republicans are not calling him out on it. disgusting.

Dream on. Not happening. You obviously don’t know much about this subject.

Definitely Ginsburg, who is clearly struggling in recent interviews. Probably Breyer too who is getting up there in age. And certainly Thomas, who will want to step down under a Republican President. That will usher in a 7-2 majority for at least 30 years.

The best knews is Democrats blew their "lets lie about sexual assault" load already and it did not work

You can expect that if Republicans hold the Senate there will be no further public hearings on a justice and they will be swiftly confirmed without question

Democrats proving over and over they are not intelligent people. No, reading books in career academia does not make someone smart.

You won the battle, but not the war. I would hope that women will look at the disrespect republicans have for women will eventually wake you guys up. BK was incredibly disrespectful. How can you have a repub party with no women on the SJC and you ladies don't complain. They are so old that they had to hire a woman? That is completely ok with you? The FBI investigation was a sham. Dozens of people who wanted to speak to the FBI could not get a return phone call. BK and CBF were not called by the FBI again. BKs friends said he clearly lied.

You are ok with all of that. Ok.

They all think Hillary was guilty of something, anything and that not only should she not be in power but also she (and De. Ford) should be in jail because reasons, but we have evidence of some of Brett and Donald’s copious crimes (and strong suggestions of more) and it’s “give him a pass!” This doesn’t even pass the sniff test. You Repos are partisan nut jobs of the highest order. (Maybe “ordure” is the better spelling for Kavanaugh).

I've raised the point about Hillary many times and no Republican has even bothered to respond yet. Innocent until proven guilty is a just a talking point for them.

There is all kinds of evidence that Hil-LIAR-y is guilty of various crimes and there is no evidence beyond an unfounded allegation that BK committed sexual assault.

Yup. It’s too bad that congress and law enforcement were too incompetent to find her guilty and llock her up for good!

Got it. "Innocent until prove guilty, unless Congress and law enforcement are incompetent." I'll write that correction into my copy of the Constitution now.
