That's her story... do you believe her?

The poor thing was left alone at age 3 months at a Target parking lot...

He was charged then.

This is such a horrible story.

Bullshit

What do you guys think happened?

No way. Clearly something else odd is going on in that story, with a past history of leaving the kid in the car, family abuse and a bitter divorce going on.

Never. You also don't separate from a female passenger/driver.

Why didn't she take her son with her? The article said she took her 4 year old daughter, so why not the son too?

I assume the 2 year old was buckled in a carseat so I seriously doubt he was coordinated/strong enough to unbuckle himself and get out of teh car to wander away.

And why didn't the mom use her cell phone to call a friend to pick her up from the car? She called a friend when she got to the gas station...that's a little too late.

It makes no sense to me. Was the Child sleeping and that's why she left him in the car?

Something else is going on. Why take one child, and not the other? Also, apparently the car started right up for officials on the scene.

Oh, and when she and her friend returned to the car, they didn't have a gas can with them.

I think the mother is full of shit and this is absolutely not what happened. I would NEVER leave a two-year-old in a car by himself to go get gas. This is a lie.

As suspicious as the story is, I can't help but wonder whether my daughter would be safer in the car, alone, or walking along the side of a busy freeway with me. I think it depends on how well I can carry her, whether she is likely to squirm/run, etc.

I bet she had a stroller or something else with her. And no cell phone to call road side assistence? LIAR

What did she do though and why????

Yeah, bullshit. You can read between the lines of what the police officer said -- "we're calling off the search (because we don't believe the child wandered off)" and "we'll be following up on some other leads (ie, explanations that have nothing to do with the mom's lies)."
