Please recommend work clothes for slim and short asian DH!

Until now, ill-fitting clothes were not an issue for my husband, who worked in research labs.
Now he is looking for an office position, he needs suits, dress shirts, etc cut to flatter his very slim frame. His previous suits were actually bought in Japan, but we're not planning another visit there soon.

Where in this country of tall large people do I find clothes for the slim and short Asian male??? We went to Brook's Brothers and everything was much too baggy on him.

Please help! I know appearance can make or break the interview...

You will have to have everything altered, I imagine. It will be expensive, espceially if you are not willing to go to a discount suit store. Discount suit stores have specials all the time. You could also perhaps get sports jackets seperate and docker-like pants altered (at the dry cleaner). GL.

Don't laugh, but have you looked in the boys department? I bet a large size suit in there designed for a teenage boy might fit him. Try nordstrom, macys, jcpenneys, and brooks brothers.

My friend who is 4'11", 100lbs shops in the gap kids department all the time and looks great.

If it's any conciliation, I lived in japan and am considered "average" here in the us (5'5", 130lbs, size 6). I was considered L or XL there and had a hard time finding things that fit. (Did a number on my body image for a time, really!) 85% of Japanese women are the same size, but there is much more variety here in the US, obviously.

A colleague who is very slender and somewhat short (5'5" or 5'7"?) shops at J. Crew and always looks excellent. Keep in mind some stores have extra sizes available online, so you could try on pants for the waist size and cut in-store, then order a shorter inseam online.

I'm not trying to be mean, I'm trying to find her husband something that will fit.

Seriously, if he's 5'3" and 120lbs, he should be shopping in the teen boys dept for suits and dress clothes.

OP, what are your DHs measurements, roughly?

Banana Republic has things that run small. You should get things tailored to fit better, too.

I hope you're also short and slim.

My short, slim DH has been buying a lot of things at Jos A Bank. They often have sales of buy one get two free, so wait for that!

Not necessarily. He is built like a man and not like a boy. He doesn't need pockets near his rib cage.

OP, if you can afford it, I would go to Nordstroms and get help from one of the salesmen. Expect to do alterations. If that fails, I would ask some Asians.

My husband is really thin and has to have everything altered unless he wants a baggy booty.

Hugo Boss. My DH is slim and 5'6" and Boss is cut perfectly for him.
