Facebook friend just posted photo of her sister

In her COFFIN!!
It's very sad, she was only 33, but really?
I was appalled when another 'friend' posted a video of a grief stricken woman who had just witnessed her child being killed by a car but I was able to comment saying I thought it was inappropriate to do so. In this case I obviously can't say anything but I'm not sure it is appropriate. Has anyone else had something like this posted on their Facebook page?

Wow - I'm sorry for her loss, but to put it on FB?

I don't like the idea of posting pictures of someone in a coffin, but I think that a friend who just lost her sister should be given an huge huge huge amount of slack.

It's weird but people grieve in different ways. Just hit "hide story" and go on with your life.

Different people grieve differently. Is this something I would post? No, but that doesn't mean it wasn't somehow cathartic for her. I agree with PP who said to click on hide story and move on.

OP here. I do give her slack and I feel awful for her but I was just so shocked. I really hope I have not offended anyone.

I give her more slack than I give you for coming here to complain.

In my culture pics of dead people are totally disapproved. I've seen so many people taking pics of people in coffins here and I still can't get over it.

Now, post it on FB? Totally inapropriate. And grief the way you want but using FB? Baaaaad choice.

Get off of FB. It is for idiots.

And dcum is for.....what exactly. Not kind, compassionate brainy types.

I agree - and now you are outing her on DCUM? I say outing b/c there has to be only 1 person who is doing this of their 33 yo sister and I think its kind of crappy that you are starting an anonymous post. Now on top of everything she may wonder which of her FB friends started this.

Agree completely. Like the PP said, I give the poster of the coffin picture way more slack than I give the OP.

18:10 - YEEEEES!

OP, you're not a very nice friend. People do strange things when they are grieving. Friends should be there to support them not make fun of them with a bunch of strangers.

Also, who made you the FB appropriateness police? If you don't like something, then just hide it or unfriend the person posting it.
