On a serious note can you (or anyone else) be more specific? Why do you say it's a dumpster fire and are there certain coaches to avoid? Certain coaches that are good?

The FCV GA program (north) is all but dead, if there are GA teams next year there will only be a handful of returning players and most of them should be at the oldest age group - the 11s, 10s, 9s and 8s went to other clubs, I think VRSC got most of the players but a good chunk to went to ECNL clubs and a handful to SYC GA. TSJ handled the whole situation horribly, they went radio silent on the family for a good 3~4 weeks which caused a lot of the families to scramble to look elsewhere. Then at least two of the coaches that were being brought in to replace CC, BP and ED quit before they even showed up.

I think the new coaches a doing a really good job closing out the spring season and had we of had any interaction with them prior to having to make a decision, we might of stayed but again TSJ said nothing for weeks on end and then had some half hearted town hall with the parents. It's almost like TSJ thought they were too big to fail and their name would keep families around alone and that's the exact opposite of what happened. I do put some blame on the coaches for quitting mid-season (Dec/Jan) and then causing more confusion by staying around for a couple months to get through Champions Cup in FL and most of the way through the Spring season. Poor communication, poor planning and poor management.

Especially on BP's part, guy loves to make X posts about players commitment and being committed to the team but can't even finish out his.

TSJ determined BP’s schedule. Not BP.

That's not what we were told by TSJ. Specifically AB. He said they wanted BP to finish out the season but they were only able to negotiate through April.

No way AB would lie to us right? Not about the new coaches he brought in? Not about the fields? Not about having TSJ college night? Not about a hundred other things either......

TSJ probably wanted BP and all the coaches to stay through the end of the season because if they didn't they'd have to poach coaches from other clubs or hire out of work coaches for the interim. It was a lose lose situation for TSJ and i don't fault them for that, i fault them for their communication, more lack of communication, to the families.

AB could’ve figured it out if he wanted to. VDA has had 1 coach running all the teams and club pretty much all year. It can be done.

Big field decisions to be made.... "ease his pain"

When I was younger…I used to dread the end of the soccer season. I hated leaving my teammates (friends) for the summer & not seeing them 2-3 times/week on the pitch.

Now…because of this FCV dumpster fire, my child can’t wait for the season to end. Zero motivation to finish strong because of the way they were treated by the administration, not to mention the coaching carousel.

The worst thing about this…oops, hold on, my apologies, had to break to read about another field 12 game cancellation notice…the season is dragging on because of rain make-ups.

Invest in a home with (turf) fields, please.

I think it’s important to offer another perspective because it’s sounds like the same few people are posting over and over and over again. We know a few families who tried out at FCV wanting to leave our own club’s “dumpster fire”. Some chose to accept and some went to elsewhere but they all had positive things to say about the tryouts and the coaches. It was really different feedback from what I’ve read here. I would caution anyone genuinely curious about this or any club to go observe for yourself and take these comments with a serious grain of salt.

Some of the new coaches seem good. And management may eventually get their act together with fields and such. But the fact is this club is in a major reset, with mostly new coaches and players. There are some that may find this appealing if you are coming from another club, getting a new fresh start sounds great. If you were already there and watched it all fall apart, coaches left, players all leaving, it’s a different story. One persons trash is another’s treasure

This is exactly true. And in that spirit, disgruntled parents who have left but continue to post here so negatively doesn’t help new people or the club. If it isn’t for you now move on and take the good memories with you. Why stand around actively trying to promote the club’s demise with such spite?? The families all knew some level of the story. Some didn’t want to take the risk and some were willing to. This isn’t the first club to go through a major transition like this. Let this club have its fresh start and it’s sink or swim. Let it be.

Except it was never billed as a fresh start. TSJ communicated nothing but business as usual when everything was crumbling around them. It’s not like they intended for this fresh start. They wanted a continuation but their own poor management turned it into a fresh start. That’s worth considering for any new families looking for a clean start. What makes them think the same people who mismanaged everything will suddenly form a well run club?
