| Watched the entire Prep v Blakefield game on livestream. Offense definitely struggled against a solid Dons defense but still found ways to make things happen in transition or 1 v 1. Props to the Prep defense for stepping up in OT. The goalie switch was so needed and it showed today. |

Bullis over spalding 10-9
Came down to the final minute. IAC is 3-0 over the MIAA this week. |
I agree, new goalie played much better than previous transfer goalie. That switch was long overdue. Prep defense plays well, especially in transition by pressing and breaking down opponent's clears. Offense has impressive moments, but needs to work on becoming more cohesive and running plays better together. |
|
Prep has played 3 OT games in 3 games already.
If Prep plays the goalie who they started today, they will be just fine. Go Hoysas! |
| Hoyas in trouble! Going to be a long season for them. Offense doesn’t look good with all their overrated players that are going to top D1 schools…guess we’re finally seeing that the politics may get you in but that hard work can’t be substituted for in the end |
IAC isn’t very good this year so they should be fine. |
|
IAC will come down between Landon and GP based on what I have seen in person and livestream.
Long season… anything can happen |
Great win yesterday by Prep over the Dons of Loyola Blakefield. For whatever reason, every national pre-season poll has the Dons over hyped. Other than the attackman committed to Loyola (Cook) next year, I didn't see any marquee stand out player for the Dons. Cook will be a player for the Greyhounds next Spring, he has excellent quickness and vision. The Maryland defensive commit (Laake), was getting torched at times by the GP's Horning (Georgetown commit) Great adjustment by Prep coaching staff to start a new goalie as the South Carolina transfer is not ready for high quality lacrosse or likely hasn't seen enough of it just yet. GP's goalie made an excellent save to start overtime as a phantom call was called against the Lil Hoyas early in OT. (so typical of Baltimore officiating) McCleary for Prep (Hopkins commit) is a very underrated player. Great speed, excellent vision and can shoot the rock. He will be a name to keep an eye out for at the collegiate level. Hoyas were the better team yesterday, they out shot the Dons and controlled the face-off X. Neutral Observer |
| Should be a good IAC season with Landon, Bullis, and Prep all competitive. Edge to Prep over Landon and Bullis but gap appears narrow at this point. |
+1 |
| Spalding is a good team. Bullis did what they had to do to beat them. Tough game between two tough teams. |
Where are all the MIAA fanboys this week saying how great the MIAA is and how terrible the IAC is this year? Spalding, Loyola and St. Mary's have lost to IAC teams and St. Pauls and Gilman won 1 goal games. Granted McDonogh and maybe Boys Latin appear to be in a different category but these Baltimore teams are not much better. |
Agree. Watched Bullis game yesterday. They are just average compared to other IAC teams I have seen over the years, but maybe good enough to compete in a watered down league for this year. Attack is the strength. Penn attackman is legit stud. . #0 can clear it as a middle, and that's about it. He killed the offensive flow many times. He's a d-mid in college, and Jeff B should start that process now. Poles are shaky, to say the least. D-mids are decent. Goalie saved their bacon a few times and seems to be seeing the ball against Spalding. |
|
Spalding is just average this year. They likely wont make the MIAA playoffs. New coach this year too.
Bullis playing them to a one goal game is not a good omen for the Bulldogs. IAC and WCAC are way down this year and early season results thus far already show this. I wouldn’t be shocked if the Cadets lay an egg tomorrow against Gilman! |
Spalding matched up well with Bullis. Two average teams but I would give the edge to Bullis. What is the measure against for the statement of "way down?" Is the measure from previous years, or public schools or past committed players. I mean the level of play is still high compared to public schools and I would claim the same as MIAA teams with the exception of McDonogh. I would take the IAC over WCAC who is the same as always (GZ, SJC and PVI). Gilman by 2. |
