This is the first time we will be taking our three year old trick or treating. Our neighborhood in S Arlington does not seem to do door-to-door trick or treating. Where would you take a three year old in or around Arlington?
Are the Pentagon City Mall/Row or Tyson's Corner Mall events for trick or treating fun and suitable for a three year old? Thanks for any advice! |
| Tysons Corner one is worth going to. |
| Np-what is the tysons corner event? Please share. Thank you. |

I'm the OP, my understanding is that the stores in some malls pass out candy and do activities on Halloween night.
Happy to hear that the Tyson's one is worth it, thanks PP. |
| We live in Arlington Heights in So. Arlington and it's GREAT for trick-or-treating. In fact 4 of our friends (couples and their children) are coming to us from DC, Falls Church, Alexandria, and Bethesda for trick-or-treating! |
| There is a really cute parade in the Westover area of N Arlington on the Saturday; parade with the middle school marching band leading the way then Mr Don performs. It's a cute and fun time... (Didn't answer your question about trick or treating though...I'm sure any neighborhood would be great!) |
| Thanks, will definitely try at least one of the suggestions! |
| North Jackson Street in Ashton Heights (N Jackson & N Pershing) is a great trick-or-treat street. Lots of decorations. Tons of kids and parents walking around. I believe there is a bonfire down the street at Lyon Park too. |
| It may be too late for this year, but next year buy tickets for Boo at the Zoo. Our daughter had a great time last year as a two-year-old and we're looking forward to this year. it's kind of cool to see the zoo at night. (and get candy!) |
| How about lyon village? |
| I think it's strange to drive your kid to a different neighborhood for "good" trick-or-treating. People do it in my neighborhood (I won't name it because I don't want to attract more people) and I find it off-putting. I like knowing the people that come by, not wondering where the heck they've been driven in from. |
I live in Lyon Village. If you ToT there I expect you to be from there. Do people really raid other neighborhoods? If you live in an apartment on the edge of Lyon Village, come on over. Otherwise, go to the neighborhood closest to your house. |
I don't mind, and don't think it's strange. I would do the same if I lived in a place where there isn't trick or treating. |
| I lived in an area where it was common for children from other neighborhoods to be driven in. I never thought it was odd or "off-putting". WTF. |
| It's Halloween guys and it's only candy I would love more kids showing up !my sons love dressing up and handing out candy in our neighborhood. When he was three he told a teenager to take more don't be shy so freaking cute. |
