Killing Paula, one of the few characters of color on the show, is not a good lewk.

I just hope the husband gets through “Blink” before the end of the show

I sure couldn’t

I don’t think it’s Paula. Otherwise the woman at the airport would have mentioned a woman or a girl dying. Instead she said person. It’s different when a woman dies.

My money’s on the dad dying for reasons previously mentioned. Or maybe Quinn fakes his death, switches the bodies somehow, and decides to stay in Hawaii.

Newlywed guy is pissed because his wife left him and is only marginally interested in the dead body remains. Doesn’t seem like he feels guilty or is running from anyone

Also the show, for all its ridiculousness, doesn’t do crazy murder stuff. Even the break in and fight was very calm, relative to how they could have done it

They won’t kill off the annoying girls, or the brother, or the parents

It’s the BLM guy

Or Armond, drugs

Or maybe it’s just the mom’s ashes being retransported

But the airport lady said someone “was killed” - not someone died

Once again, why be so lazy and kill off a mid-season "nobody" character where their murder is the opening shot of the whole series, and the story line that keeps us watching. That would be so anticlimactic, and disappointing. Not to mention super lazy on the part of the writers. It has to be someone who we're interested in....not sure why you're saying it's not going to be either of the parents. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't but not sure why you're so sure it's not. I do agree they won't kill off any of the "kids" on the show. That would be cringe.

I totally agree. Why have so many odd moments and various cringe inducing scenes to chicken out at the payoff. I bet they swing big and think everyone is on the table.

Totally. This show isn't about taking the low stakes way out.

I slept on it and I’m sticking with the dad.

It’s a fun show, I hope the finale is good.

Anyone but Quinn! I would be bummed.

Wait are we now at a point where we can't tolerate a fictional TV series killing a character of color? That would be controversial? Race and privilege are a central element of the show. I would argue that a Paula death would drive that home even harder.

Would you say that Belinda can't die because she is a POC?

It might even be the most thoughtful way of driving home the randomness of the various characters situations while highlighting the entitled nature of the “haves.”

I think separate from the larger social commentary (which is great/funny/cringey) the show is great in its portrayal of how awful a vacation can be!

Wait, what? I can't let this go without comment. If a man dies, NBD, but if a woman dies, everyone is in a kerfuffle over it? I don't think so.

Preview shows them both, with the mom, celebrating their scuba dive on the boat. Whereas the Paula previews are ominous - when Olivia asks who she is texting and then when she looks upset on the boat. Plus Olivia sobbing. Mark my words - the death is Paula.

Who even says things like this?

Offhand I'd say people who are well read, who are familiar with many common expressions, who are intelligent, and who are not snarky little b*tches.

Oh, really? I would say it's people with an inflated sense of their own intelligence and importance. Who are you, Cassandra? I'm not marking the words of some internet twat who knows just as little as I do about the ending.
NP here. Why are you taking things so seriously? This is a light-hearted fun discussion about a fictional TV series. Did you envision the PP was saying that in an aggressive/mean/angry tone?

Yeah the “was killed” thing does seem to take the BLM guy off the table. on the other hand, why the coughing fit?

And where was he all afternoon ignoring her? At first figure it was a booty call situation, but maybe he is up to something more.

He is both terminally ill AND gets killed somehow

Could be totally wrong but I don’t think the tone of the show leads to a major character being killed. They are all doing their thing, getting their comeuppance, no need to be bumped off

Could be wrong

The woman in the airport says "Person" and "killed" so that it remains a mystery until the last episode. If she had said "woman" even if that is the more realistic thing to say, that would have ruled out half the cast.

Don't forget it could be Rachel after all. Everything is leading to thinking this was a fake out in the first episode, but then it could be the actual person in the end.
