Economy is roaring

The Democrats need to come up with actual solutions that are economically viable instead of being intellectually lazy and just promising a whole bunch of free stuff that'll cost trillions of dollars. Where do people like AOC and the rest of the Democrats learn economics from, McDonald's?

On Fox News it was a $1000 savings bond. Which is it liar?

Sorry haters, JP morgan expects the S and P 500 to go up another 8% in 2020 as the economy is now expected to re-accelerate:

The fed should be raising rates then, because otherwise, there will be no bullets to deal with the post-sugar high.

Since when is annual growth of under 3% considered an explosion? I'm pretty we've seen better. Much better.

And if, as you believe, the economy is doing so well, then why is Trump exploding the annual deficit (after Obama steadily reduced it over his eight years in office)?

Percents are relative, genius.

It's much easier to grow an economy by 8-10% after it massively tanks or it is much smaller, than growing an economy that has a large GDP.

Go look up the following answers to these questions and post what you find here with cited sources.

What is the current unemployment rate and how does it compare to unemployment levels for the last 75 years?

At what percentage are real house hold incomes increasing or decreasing since 2016?

How much has the market grown since 2016?

How much has inflation been increasing over the last 4 years?

And you attribute these to a president?

From your link:

“The declining progressivity of the tax code is the subject of “The Triumph of Injustice,” a great new book by Zucman and fellow Berkeley economist Emmanuel Saez. It charts the slow strangulation of that progressivity at the top.

As they demonstrate, the effective tax rate (federal, state, local and other taxes) paid by top earners has steadily declined since the 1950s and 1960s, when the tax code really was quite progressive, to a point where the highest income groups pay barely more, percentage wise, than the bottom.”

Now, please do tell the class which American political party has championed lowering the effective tax rate paid by top earners? Almost to the exclusion of every other policy? HINT: It’s not the Democrats.

U.S. manufacturers expect to reduce capital spending in 2020, which would be the first annual decline in 11 years

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-12-09/u-s-manufacturers-plan-first-pullback-in-investment-since-2009

So much for the tax cuts spurring R&D.

All of this great sentiment about the economy is paying off and is getting re-invested right back into the economy. Best American economy in decades. We've had a record breaking black Friday and Cyber Monday. .Xmas sales are blowing up. I'll be glad to contribute more to the economy this weekend after this fantastic week of investing.

It probably enrages Democrats that I made money and will be spending money to help this economy even more.

No.

It does not enrage Democrats. You really need to allay off the FOX news. You sound brainwashed.

I am a Dem and do not care if you buy Xmas presents. Lol.

Honestly.

DP. Trump said he'd make the GDP grow at 5 or 6 percent.

So basically you've got nothing. The economy continues to grow at a pace that's good because it isn't overheating and leading to substantial rates of inflation increases. Inflation remains incredibly low, the S and P 500 is now over the 3000 for the first time in history, we have unemployment levels never seen since about the 50s and 60s, and HHIs are increasing in real terms. Americans are winning, despite how negative the Democrats are. The Democrats would love it if people lost jobs, inflation started increasing, and if the stock market crashed just to score some political points. Democrats can't stand the fact that Americans are doing so well right now.

+1 with a slow clap building up to a standing ovation. Well done.

Why no response to the report on US manufacturers' pullback for 2020, the first since 2009?

Eh, you're just looking for a single small blemish in a much bigger picture. Your same article also had data showing that manufacturers expect revenues to increase and the majority said profit margins are expected to improve. Your article also said that turnaround in manufacturing is also expected in 2020. The largest single reason cited for a pullback was due to unspecified reasons. It could be that manufacturing just doesn't need more capital investment in 2020 given the turnaround and improving revenues and profit margins. Way to own yourself. The bigger overall picture takeaway from your article is that manufacturing actually looks like it is improving and making more money!

There is no middle class

I don't want Yang to be President but he does have a point

Life will be awesome for the top 10% regardless

Life is a lot better for the bottom 25% then it was 4 years ago

The problem is the people in the 25-75% range. You can't expect the top 10% to pay for everything but there really aren't enough good jobs anymore for people in the 25-75% range. I'm talking jobs that pay 50-75k a year not the service sector jobs paying under 15 bucks an hour. Those jobs are plentiful but you can't live off that long term.

The richest 400 Americans have 2.9 trillion dollars. Now I’m terrible with math, and literally NO ONE is asking billionaires to give up all their money (no matter how much right wingers pretend), but how much does that work out to per American? They literally could pay for everything and considering that they’ve made most of their money of our hard work while chiseling more from us at every level - I’m fully on board with policies that demand them to have some skin in the game.

It works out to about $10,000 for each American. Not sure how that pays for everything given the cost of health coverage, college, and daycare.

Vote for democrats that support US workers first!

Not the coastal elites that promote more and more immigration of cheap workers for billionaires
