“Senator Mark Warner told me he worries Attorney General Barr's unusual trips abroad "could put the Five Eyes relationship in jeopardy."

"If Australia starts to feel that their intelligence is being used ... to smear an opponent of Mr. Trump, then that trust breaks down.”

FiveEyes has already been withholding information from the US. Let's be clear here, our closest allies don't trust Trump.

Well, then they’re smart.

An actual witch hunt. Fortunately, both the Aussies and Italians told them where to stick it. Not sure if the UK will do the same, we'll see. If they want the "dirt" from Mifsud, they should go to Moscow.

According to the massively sourced Post article on Trump’s calls with foreign leaders, he told May that he didn’t believe the UK intelligence that Putin has the Skripals poisoned. So hopefully they’re skeptical of every damn thing he says.

Oh lovely, now the Russians are saying Trump says they didn’t poison the Skripals.

Durham wants to talk to CIA analysts involved in the intelligence assessment of Russia’s activities, prompting some of them to hire lawyers. And there is tension between the CIA and the Justice Department over what classified documents Durham can examine.

A Western intelligence official familiar with what Durham has been asking of foreign officials says his inquiries track closely with the questions raised about the Russia investigation in right-wing media—a line of inquiry based on accusations made by George Papadopoulos.

“Closely overseen by Mr. Barr, Mr. Durham and his investigators have sought help from governments in countries that figure into right-wing attacks and unfounded conspiracy theories about the Russia investigation, stirring criticism that they are trying to deliver Mr. Trump a political victory rather than conducting an independent review.”

Seems as if Durham may be over the target.

With Boris in charge at the moment, it is hard to say.

Okay Parliamentary law nerds. Help an American lawyer out. How much power does Johnson have to make this call. Because Parliment is not going to play ball. Can he get around that?

Britain has the "supremacy of Parliament" doctrine, meaning that they can do whatever they want. If they vote that he can't help his friend Donald, then he can't do it. If he disobeys, they can vote him out of office by simple majority.

Attorney General William P. Barr has held private meetings overseas with foreign intelligence officials seeking their help in a Justice Department inquiry that President Trump hopes will discredit U.S. intelligence agencies’ examination of Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to people familiar with the matter.

This is crazy! Trump is ready to burn USA down to save his butt and it seems like Barr, Pompeao et. al are helping him. We are doomed as country.

OP, honestly, do you realize how any investigation is handled overseas? Do you really think that all our CIA, FBI, NCIS agents just conduct investigation on their own? No. We have to build relationships with the host country counterparts and ask them for assistance every single day in every single country we have an open embassy. There will s nothing crazy about it, this is how US government works.

Normally, an agency’s active team on an investigation would seek assistance, rather than the WH seeking help to spite the agencies.

I'm calling it. In a year or so Barr will be in jail.

Barr hid the whistle blower complaint from the FEC. We have obstruction of justice. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2019/10/fec-justice-department/

That it’s in Clara Jeffrey’s MoJo basically guarantees it’s garbage.
