Harper’s Bazaar is attacking or trolling Mrs. Obama? Maybe you are just a judgmental racist?

Michelle Obama’s Book Tour Suits Are a Lesson in Fashion Diplomacy

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.glamour.com/gallery/michelle-obama-europe-book-tour-outfits/amp

As Michelle Obama embarks on the international leg of her Becoming book tour, audiences continue to pay attention to her onstage wardrobe. (I mean, do you remember those $4,000 Balenciaga boots?) For appearances in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, London, and Amsterdam, the former First Lady has worn polished, embellished suits. And though each one has been unique, they all have something in common—and it goes back to her days in the White House.

So Glamour likes her outfits.

I strongly disagree. She has no waist to speak of after just one child. At Michelle’s age she’ll look even worse.

Yeah Melania was good as a trophy wife/nude model - but you can see in her WH pics that she's putting on weight and doesn't know how to dress for it yet. You can't just wear tight tight tight + stilettos for every occasion once your body settles into middle age.

You'd have to search far and wide to find a 50 year old with as good a body as Melania. Sure Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez and others. But it's an exclusive club. I agree that she could dress better, but it's ridiculous to criticize her body.

I'm not criticizing it - I hope I look that got at 50. I'm saying she can't wear a garbage bag and still look good, which was the PP's claim. Not that she ever would have worn a garbage bag - not tight enough.

Posting photos of Michelle Obama in horrible outfits/unflattering angles and just waiting for people to bash her, is that what you’re doing?

Is this retribution for the Trump fashion thread?

Yes, I am certain that's what this is. PPs don't like that we still prefer the black first lady over nazi barbi, so they'll show us.

Just when I thought we couldn’t top the horrors already posted in this thread.

What are you talking about? I’m sure OP and more than half pps love every single MO look on this thread. None are horrible to them. See the op and the many many links declaring her a fashionista.

I’m not the OP but so what? It’s discussing fashion. Is it only OK to make negative comments about the Trump family?

I respect Michelle's education and achievements, but I always thought she dressed wrong for her body and facial structure. It's almost as if she has an idea in her head about how she "ought" to look and ignores what she sees in the mirror.

Her best outfits have been those with strong architectural lines, structured cuts and fabrics, and a bare minimum - preferably utter absence - of froufrou. She is at her best when she dresses like an amazon and not a little woman.

I am white. I just think she's so beautiful. The only "look" I don't like on her is the shorter more severe straight hair. Love her curls.

Maybe the outfits are hit or miss but I feel for her that she's getting papped on her trip to Italy. I would not want to be photographed walking around in that heat.

Perhaps those that think these clothes and pictures are awful should find “better” pics. These are mostly recent pics from the book tour and from after Obama left office.

There’s emerald green panthers climbing her lapels.

And? We are discussing current fashion here. I’m sorry she gained a ton of weight and doesn’t buy things that fit and consequently looks a hot mess.

It's okay to respect MO's accomplishments and to also question some of her recent lamentable fashion choices.
