S/O - What’s up with AEM?

Anonymous
Full of angry people and posts. I had no idea that every single person in Arlington was racist until I joined AEM. AEM is depressing - life just ain't that bad, folks.

At a minimum, the name of the group should be changed. I would love it if a another education focused group would form - one without a political agenda, one that is civil, one where the moderators don't berate other members, imply that all whites are racist, or cyber bully others with differing opinions. This post reminded me to quit the group.

Anonymous wrote:the prosecutors race discussion is not nearly as offensive as the full throated virtually unanimous attack on anyone who dares to express concerns about the transgender policy. They actually cuss out the individual, and telll them to leave Arlington, then try to pretend that the reason people are hesistant to voice concerns is those individuals 'know' they are wrong.
I have had numerous tentative conversations with actual APS parents who are very concerned about this policy. There cannot be any discussion of it on AEM b/c of the cyber-bullying that is being allowed there.

And ANY concern is labeled as trans-phobic. They support the policy means they support it as written. No exceptions.

where have the moderators berated other members, implied that all whites are racist, or engaged in cyberbullying?
I have certainly seen those on AIM, but not from the moderators (who are actually both very nice people.)

I''m a pretty big Parisa supporter, and have done some campaigning for her. I have not seen any of the strident voices at the events I have been at. The goal is to change peoples views based on actual stories and evidence. Not to berate people into agreeing with you for fear of being called a bigot/ racist/ pick your adjective.

Well, then you go tell the bullies on AEM to stop posting those things, they are actually sending me and many others to vote for Stamos. Maybe they are secret Stamos supporters? hmmmm...

Those few people/bullies (everyone here knows who they are, and unfortunately I know a couple of them in real life too) are making the Parisa campaign look exactly like a Trump campaign...they bully, post tons of false info...it's disgusting.

they don't care- they view themselves as on a mission. If you would like to, I would be more than happy to engage in a respectful conversation about why I think Parisa is the better choice for Arlington.

It's disguising, it's like "you are stupid and racist if you don't agree me 100%", can we call out those 3 biggest bullies by their names here??? We all know who they are. I love it when one of them once said "I went to xxxx school and I turned out fine", well, nothing against that school, but NO you did NOT turn out fine, you turned out to be a nasty bully!!

Every white person everywhere is racist. It’s racist whenever white people care about the quality of the school they send their kid to or the proximity of the school.

It’s racist to advocate for your kid or let them do activities, sports, internships etc because that’s racist opportunity hoarding.

It’s racist to think maybe some minors should be charged with felonies like if they molest, rape or murder.

The above rules do not apply to non white people because they are incapable of racism.

If you question any of these assumptions or don’t enjoy being called racist, then you’re fragile.

Well really, according to them, no white people should be posting. We are supposed to step aside in favor of letting those most “affected” by the issue du jour (minorities) speak. I saw that posted two separate times today.

The best is when other minorities post that that alone doesn’t give them license to be bullies, the response is crickets. They just ignore what they don’t want to hear and move right on.

You don't need special skills to start a FB group. Why don't you be the change you want to see in the world?
