It's not natural...she is TRYING to sound this way. It's the whole package... the voice, her facial expressions, the mannerisms, the constant belly cradling (you'd think she was carrying the messiah instead of a minor royal)

NP here. No, this is incorrect (and sounds really pretentious). I've been living outside of the US for 10 years, and I started to "mimic" the accents around me. I've been in England for a while now, and I do not "mimic" English accents, and NONE of the (many) American expats I know here have changed their accents. What a stupid thing to say.

Well...if she was Meryl Streep she would have married a nobody. That's what you do to be a successful woman in Hollywood who wants to stay married. Same with Julia Roberts.

Funny re smug. A lot of women that come across as 'smug' I think are just confident. Gwyneth Paltrow gets on my everlasting nerves but I can't argue she's earned her fame (beyond her family). Same with Angelina Jolie.
