Washington University doesn't give much merit aid or much financial aid at all. They are quite a bit more expensive than the Ivies.

Accept for high achieving AA students. because of eir location the numbers of Black students applying is down. My AA kid did not apply, but he was recruited and offered significant merit aid when he visited.
