Yes, this is surely irrelevant, but I can't help wondering where there is a pool with 700+ swimmers and parents watching each other at 10:24 on a non-holiday Monday morning. It's an unusual time for a meet and the early morning practices are usually well over by 8 or so, let alone almost 10:30.

I agree with you. And the posts sometimes develop a tone which inclines toward nastiness and name-calling. It reminds me of an adolescent boy more than any adult I know. And frankly, most adolescent boys don't even act this way!

I understand a few parents just cannot accept that there are many better gifted kids than their own in more than one ways. But to me no preparation does not make sense. A parent cannot change what exceptional qualities a child is born with and what they are not. What they are not born with is where the parent can help, and that is through preparation.

How are you involved in all these sessions of crying? Are your children crying too? There are plenty of activities out there that don't result in children crying every weekend. If your children's teams are as you describe them, I would suggest switching them to a different team or league. Weekend activities should be fun, and not a cause for constant tears. Yes, I know. But I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. S/he seems to have a very dark view of other people and the general community s/he finds him/herself in, so I wanted to give him or her some positive and possibly useful information. If those teams are actually as s/he describes them, I wouldn't have my kids involved for ten minutes, let alone an entire season!
