Well said. |
By "not right" you seem to mean something other than "not true." |
I don't like change at all okay? There are still things I agree with in Christianity and because of that, I will identify as such. |
Then I hope it brings you peace. |
No, I mean to say its not right to be an Atheist and that why I have suppressed those thoughts in my mind. |
| OK, OP, but note that I didn't come into your house and start badgering you about your beliefs. You came on here to tell me my beliefs are bad. Why did you feel the need to do so? Because you are tempted by them? I'm not trying to convert you. Please stop bashing atheists. |
What?? Thinking about Atheism doesn't make you an Atheist. I've been thinking about and questioning Catholicism while reading this, does that make me a Catholic now? |
I'm not badmouthing your beliefs at all. Where did you get that? |
It's not right to be atheist, yes? And other comments you've made along the way. And you think that perhaps we choose to be atheist just so we can claim to be smarter than believers. |
IMO I view Atheism in a bad light. I don't hate you for it, I just disagree w/ your views and Atheists, particularly the younger crowd feel they're superior intellectually because of their Atheism. I could run mental circles around most of those brats anyway. |
You give many contradictory statements. |
How so? Religion is a complicated topic for me. I feel different things when talking about religion. I can badmouth it while at the same time praising it. What do you want from me? |
It's the "I'm not badmouthing, where do you get that," and the "here I am badmouthing it," that I find contradictory. |
Interesting. So, really, you are an atheist who follows the teachings of Christ. Some people have a deep and abiding faith that gives them peace and solace, and I guess there are others who may not have the "faith" but find comfort in following the teachings of one particular person or group (Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, etc). The choice of one over the other allows them to go deep and focus. You are part of a tradition. Others, like myself, find choosing one dissatisfying as, to me, it feels limited. And my peace is found as I continue to learn more and having my thinking continually challenged. I love it, but maybe you find it unsettling. |
Not the PP, but perhaps it's because you keep saying things like "It's not right to be an Atheist," and that your conscience won't let you be an atheist, both of which make it pretty clear that you think there's something wrong or bad about atheism. |
