That Sidwell apparently touts their parent-body around like trophies is so, well, noveau riche. Beauvoir/NCS/STA would never stoop to such a stunt. |
No. STA has need blind admissions and the article only listed some Sidwell political types and journalists. There is ebb and flow among schools and DC Power Players might take their children out of STA due to lack of preferential treatment. Remember the Al Gore son issue? Went from STA to Sidwell -- why? |
| I believe that he was kicked out of STA for behavior problems. Can't say I'm surprised given his drug/drunk driving issues the past few years. |
| And the secret service was already set up at Sidwell at the time. |
|
I think the story is that Gore deux was in trouble at STA for drugs or drink. Tipper tried to get STA to wipe his record clean and they refused. So he transferred out.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. |
Are you serious? After reading that article I'd let my children go anywhere BUT Sidwell! Even without this story it's pretty clear that Beauvoir, NCS, & St. Albans are all superior. |
I don't know about NCS, but both STA and GDS have as many, or more, rich and famous parents. |
If it really matters, yes, NCS/Beauvoir can also stake claim to this type of list. |
Pot. You're not wrong. Says something about both STA and Sidwell. |
| And about Tipper Gore! |
| Not surprised about the racial slur thing. A Beauvoir child called another child the "N" word during a soccer game a couple of years ago. A complaint was made, but nothing ever came of it. |
| Whoa, don't go comparing a taunting O-Ba-ma chant to the N word. |
| Really? Seriiously, is there more than one former or current Beauvoir child who used the N-word? I was told from a very reliable source about the N-word incident but I thought the child had been expelled. |
| It happened during a soccer game. A child on the Beauvoir team called a child on another team the "N" word. A complaint was made to the coach, who said he didn't hear it and doubted that a child on their team would have said it; a complaint was made to Stoddert, who said they'd investigate, but nothing ever came of it. I know the child who was called that name, and he's not the kind of kid to make stuff up, especially not stuff like that. |
| I'm sorry, maybe I'm going to come accross as super naive...but how does a child, even at Beauvoirs 3rd grade level, know that word? I never heard that vile word until I was at least in my mid-teens. |
