Why should we demonize it? |
This is an ugly truth that many people don't want to do with. For some reason, people believe that if some gay people admit that they chose their orientation, it will delegitimize the GRM. |
I don't. Why should your beliefs trump mine? |
thats we have votes |
Wait - what? You did write this, correct:
So, to answer, "where did I say anything about religion in my post?" - the parts I quoted before, and reproduced here. Not sure why you need to ask. |
dude, there are dozens of folks here against gay marriage. some have religious reasons, many do not. |
Apparently you don't seem to realize that the NC vote was not just about "the definition of the word marriage-between a man and a woman," but rather that it will ban the civil unions that you seem to support as well: "Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this stateā |
dude, there are dozens of folks here against gay marriage. some have religious reasons, many do not.
Of course. But I quoted this post:
The PP OF THAT POST responded, "where did I mention religion?" The answer is, of course - the whole freakin' post. Please try and keep up. |
So if you oppose gay marriage for non-religious reasons, what forms the basis of your opposition?
1. Gay sex is unnatural? So is air travel. Do you oppose that, too? 2. Gay people can't have kids? Ever visited the TTC forum? Awful lot of straight people can't conceive, either. If not those commonly spouted and meaningless reasons, what? |
Oh, snap. Yeah, I did say that. I stand by it. |
Could you, really? I might be belonging to that 'small percent of the population', but I'm not attracted to people of my own sex. At all. PP,you got your math wrong. It is a small percent of the population who is bisexual, and the majority of us have clear sexual preferences. |
You know the way you feel is wrong, that's why you keep mum about it. that's a step in the right direction. There was a time that bigots like this could get away with this publicly. |
You say that marriage is a "religious ceremony" - presumably a Christian one. But fine. So, tell me, am I not allowed to be married by your views b/c I didn't get married in a church? Because I didn't have a religious ceremony? Are you really so presumptous to think that you have more of a right than I do to be "married" simply b/c you exchanged vows in a church? |
C'mon folks, don't be naive--he needs to get re-elected! Like it or not, this is an unpopular issue that affects 10% if that of all Americans. Let him get re-elected, then he can push for gay rights. |
You apparently haven't seen the news lartely. |
