They should accept! It was a gentlemen’s sweep and they deserve the props regardless of the sleepy, orange Oompa Loompa. |
They should not. He will just try to use the event for his own advantage like he always does. He has no capacity to celebrate any success that he does not see as his own. New York and the Knicks have nothing to gain by going there. |
My magic 8 ball says....no. |

The Republican Party engaging in unprecedented lawless authoritarianism, oil shocks, the Knicks are NBA champions.
Everything's coming up 1973 again. |
|
Hmmm...maybe they haven't actually accepted.

Oklahoma City Thunder turned Trump down last year. Trump didn’t extend an invitation to the 2025 WNBA Championship team Las Vegas Aces. And he probably won’t extend one to this year’s women NBA champions |
Just because the MAGA owner is going does not mean the team members are going. Why would a professional athlete want to soil their reputation by being photographed with Trump? I am sure some will skip it either because of a "scheduling conflict", "illness" for simple "no thank you.". If attending is some kind of condition of employment from maga owner it's a different calculation. |
| Dolan and trump will have big macs at a table for 3 with the trophy. |
And obviously that is not all athletes. If you compete for a maga team or in maga market or are a cage fighter or something, you might get better endorsement deals if you do go. But for the New York market? I don't see how that helps these players financially in any way. |
OKC didn't even go. |
| The Knicks have brought nothing but good vibes to NYC. All of that would disappear in a heartbeat if they go to the White House to celebrate Trump, the most hated man in NY. I can't imagine Brunson, KAT, Hart, OG, Bridges and so on would squander all that goodwill by participating in Trump propaganda. The entire city would so disappointed in them. |
