Did you never go to a store, restaurant, shopping mall? Because if I did you could have been infected by anyone you passed. Don't vaccinate and run the risk that you are deliberately running the risk if infecting your child and if this happens then you have only yourself to blame and don't come crying to the rest of us if your child dies because you are a fool who believed a moron with a brain worm. |
JFC don't travel, don't even drive by the airport. Fk it, stop breathing outside your house. Are you vaxxed for rabies? Do you wear a plastic suit so that you're impervious to ticks? Do you carry around bear spray? Are you really saying that hepB is actually the old Covid? |
DP. I was also skeptical of the HepB vax at birth. Then I did a little reading about how Hep B is endemic in other countries and how it can be transmitted, and how it can result in serious consequences. I like most people in the US just don’t really know as much about Hep B as compared to say measles or polio. Once I understood it, it actually seemed like the most important vax to get and I was happy to do it right away. |
Or … just be a responsible human and get your child the vaccine that prevents cancer and liver failure when it is offered to you. Not sure what’s so hard about that. |
Post some links. The most common references for people on this board are archaic religious texts, TikTok, or whichever echo chamber moron they listen to on Spotify. Unless you're claiming that newborns are ambulatory or any normal parent is randomly jabbing themselves with foreign objects, how exactly does delaying the vaccine for this population lead to yout manic response? https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/hepatitis-b "In highly endemic areas, hepatitis B is most commonly spread from mother to child at birth (perinatal transmission) or through horizontal transmission, especially from an infected child to an uninfected child during the first 5 years of life. The development of chronic infection is very common in infants infected from their mothers or before the age of 5 years." "Hepatitis B is also spread by needlestick injury, tattooing, piercing and exposure to infected blood and body fluids, such as saliva and menstrual, vaginal and seminal fluids. Transmission of the virus may also occur through the sharing or reuse of contaminated needles and syringes or sharp objects either in health care settings, in the community or among persons who inject drugs. Sexual transmission is more prevalent in unvaccinated persons with multiple sexual partners." |
Like most things vaccine related, they just make stuff up. But like all houses of lies, they always collapse in time. |
It’s both. We sacrifice healthy children so the unhealthy don’t feel targeted. It also provides a captive and legally shielded revenue stream. What’s the craziest is all the people who want European style healthcare who freak out when we make our policies align with theirs more closely. |
In K-12 education it's the, "if everyone's dumb, then nobody's dumb" philosophy of teaching. |
What'a crazy is thinking the US can mimic European health policies that succeed due to universal healthcare, when we don't have universal healthcare. |
It's not going to go well. The US right now is basically a third world country with a top layer of really rich people. European/ first world country health policy is not going to work when we don't have universal health care in the US. If I lived in Europe I wouldn't be wearing a mask everywhere I go, but I don't love in Europe and can't afford to get really sick.. |
Well, I’m not a diva, so I’m happy to get the vax on the schedule that does the most good for everyone and also happy to get the additional protection. There’s no evidence of any downside to the birth dose. As for risk - while it is true that HepB is not casually transmitted on doorknobs etc, close household contacts are a risk and people are often asymptomatic but very contagious. This is what really made me think the birth dose was important, coupled with the knowledge that HepB is very prevalent in other countries. I thought it was not at all far fetched that a nurse, nanny or daycare worker could have it and pose a risk. At the end of the day is was a really easy call to protect my kid from liver cancer on the day he was born. I can’t see any downside. |

Number of Hep B infection under age 10 in 1990 were around 16,000, about half of which were found in South Asian and Asian babies and children born in the US. About 50% of infection were from the mother during delivery. So, 8,000 cases of unknown transmission in children 10 and under. Children who acquire the infection after 6 typically clear it.

Please INFORM yourself with facts before posting!!! Hep b is transmitted by bodily fluids -- blood and semen. You cannot get it from casual contact. As long as your newborn is not having sex or exchanging needles with someone infected with Hep B, she will be fine. Yes, as long as no one in your family has Hep B, you can wait until daycare or preschool to get Hep B vax. But if you want it at birth for your baby just ask for it!! Problem solved!! |
I happily forked over $$ so my children wouldn't be paralyzed by polio. They've gone to the swimming pool without worry. They don't have PTSD from getting measles like my mother did, who was convinced she was going to die at 7. It's $$ well-spent for me. |
| Polio is quite different than covid PP, but you do you. Does PP understand that over 90% infected with polio is asympomatic? |
