But the talent ID does help girls get noticed by colleges and freshman year is the start of D1 recruiting and being “watched” whether you like it or not. It’s an accolade that girls can tout to college coaches and college coaches don’t have much to go on. So it sucks for these girls and the clubs that didn’t put in the time to put in their names screwed them.

There was a 2011 Northern Virginia player called into a national pool camp in June and from Maryland. There’s a soccer wire article about clubs producing the most national team players. She’s listed. You people need to get more educated about this stuff if you’re going to talk about it.

There are plenty of USYNT players from this area. They aren’t the daughters of the parents on this forum though so they like to tell you that they don’t exist. They do though.

There may be some yes but the majority are just called up for other reasons other than merit. That is the reality. Again no real achievement here except some social media bragging. FVU avoided the drama since the favorites left anyway. Lol

Ugh pretty sure there is a FVU 2011 still on the squad that was invited to the U.S. Soccer Talent ID camp last year. They didn’t all leave and it’s a shame that FVU screwed her (and others) over.

A local training center and a camper not the same thing. There were FVU players called into training centers. Not camps.

Here’s a somewhat related issue. Seems like in the past girls who were USYNT level played up several years. I wonder if we’re seeing that less now because ECNL is all about college recruiting and if it’s college recruiting, that means you stay with your graduation year. For example, the Richmond girl called to the U15 national camp (not regional ID but national camp) still plays with her age group. Yeah she plays with boys but she doesn’t play up with girls. Again, in the past someone like her would be playing one or two years up with their same gender to be so impressive. Is that happening less??

Was ECNL not about college recruiting in the past? That player plays up and with boys quite a bit as do most of the players at that level. We have several in our club and they all train with boys regularly and play their games with the girls teams.

The Beach, Richmond (and arguably Skyline) players were also not invited to the NC session, so there is a chance that US Soccer did drop a ball on this one. At minimum, if a ECNL (or GA) club does not respond, one would think US Soccer would... follow up.
