I signed my son up for this, looking at it as another way to keep him moving in the winter.
Question more for my curiosity, do they actually cut anyone after tryouts? My guess is no. |
Not sure but you have the right mindset about the process. |
My son did the first winter session for the same reason you describe, and I suspect not. That being said, there were a few players there that are on top teams at large clubs, and he enjoyed the intensity. So it was still worthwhile as winter training, especially coming from a smaller club that doesn’t offer as much in the winter. His own self assessment was that he was about middle of the pack in the group. Chose not to go out for the second winter session because it was so cold and he wanted a break from that. Dropping in on some indoor things instead. Might try it again in the spring. |
Funny you ask this. Got a DCU RDS rejection email today that was clearly meant to go to a specific player’s family, that instead went out to the entire mailing list. Awkward! |
Yes, me, too! Definitely awkward, not least because my kid has since aged out, but the parent was so sincere. instructive to receive it though. |
As long as your check doesn’t bounce you qualify. |
This is a total money grab and the quality of player there is very low overall. Why don't you find valuable training "to keep him moving"? There are plenty of options out there that are much better than this "Regional Development School" haha. Or he could just find a brick wall and train?? |
Aren't there options for everything? Everything we are against is a money grab Everything we support it's money well spent Do what you want that makes your kid happy. |
