Bob's Big Boys?
My friend worked at Bob's Big Boys in HS.
It gives me this cheesy warm feeling to see so many locals posting. Sometimes we feel like the last actual people from here .
YES - both of these things. My mom bought me a felt bowler hat at the A&C in GP when I was in middle school. (Never wore it, but I bet it is still in her house somewhere.) |

Wow, I can really tell I have lived here along time from some of these posts....
"The 18 yo drinking age in DC being raised to 21 and I was one of the lucky ones who was grandfathered. Had to have a profile picture on my drivers license." - I have had people NOT believe me when I tell them about this...I remember when the law changed. "Any one remember the oil crisis? showing my age but i would wait in line half a day to fill the tank for my parents. you could only get it filled every other day (odds and evens). " - I remember crying and telling my mom I didn't want to go to the gas station!!!!!!!!!!!! ""Nobody bodders me!" "Nobody bodders me either!" *big wink*" - that kid has to be in his 40's now!!!! "And watching WTTG channel reruns with those funky commercials all summer long. (Old navy knocked them off.) " - I LOVED watching those shows in summer. This was channel 5 before it became FOX and decidely more cool. All of these: Memco's Waxie Maxie Kemp Mill Dixie Pig Herman's World of Sports Plus: Zayre and Montgomery Ward I remember the People's Drug having a resturant in it as well as Montgomery Ward. I remember when Kingstowne was big fields and nothing else. You drove a little down Van Dorn past Edison high school and the street ended. The skateboard park thing behind Springfield Mall. Watching news coverage of the plane going into the 14th Street Bridge Commericals for a little amusement park in MD that had something to do with Storybook characters but my parents wouldn't take me
