You know that the “AID” in USAID did not stand for “aid” right? It’s an acronym. |
With average annual disbursements of about $23 billion since 2001, USAID is still allowing 10,000 children per day globally to die. Why are we allowing 10,000 per day to die from malnutrition and starvation? |
USAID? Hmm... only there was something... |
No. For the same reason, this child and her family need to leave; the US is not responsible for feeding, vaccinating, and providing for every needy person and country in the world. We are in debt to our eyeballs and cannot afford to take any more strays. |
Not being able to save everyone shouldn't be an impediment to doing something as a nation. I mean that was the great U.S. Not possible now, too many MAGA. Oh the irony... |
This is not the royal we We don’t need to have a stick up our butt simply because the U.S policy is to let uber wealthy not pay their fair share for the resources they get from the country. There would be no debt But I know you are not wealthy because you quoted that. That’s the pablum they give plus to explain why we don't get anything while they sacrifice nothing |
So 10,000 children per day worldwide started dying the day Donald Trump took office? Do you have any reputable sources to support your claim? Are you claiming that when a democratic president is in office, no children die of malnutrition and starvation? Do you have any reputable sources to support your claim? Can you provide data from a reputable site that shows that “MAGA” (can you define what that is? A political slogan isn’t in charge of anything) has caused previously well fed children to starve and die? Since this is a board of intelligent, well intentioned adults, you will definitely provide the evidence you are basing your post/comment on. |
We dole out $23 billion per year; how much more do democrats want Americans to pay to ensure every child in the world has enough food to survive and adequate medical care to live healthy lives? Do you have a total dollar amount you can provide the American tax payer, including billionaires? |
Do we need a new app? US FoodAid One? 24/7/365, a hungry family anywhere in the world can request food assistance from the US taxpayer. We will keep the $23 billion USAID is handing out yearly and in addition provide more food aid. No child will die of malnutrition or starvation. We will use US tax dollars to make sure every child has food and medical care. |
It would certainly be a noble undertaking befitting the role the US once played in this world. |
But you are willing to pay for Trump to play golf and an entire separate living situation for his "wife". |
Ok, so when will this food app be implemented? You believe the United States should nobly provide food for every child in the world. How much will it cost? Do you want the US to provide healthcare to every child in the world? Cost? |
The US taxpayer always pays for the US president and his family. Why should this administration be different? Do taxpayers choose what to pay for? |
I'm not actively building an app. Perhaps check in with your politicians to convey your child death hopes. |
As of early 2025, the United States is home to 813 billionaires. Their combined wealth was estimated at $6.72 trillion. In March 2025, the U.S. government debt stood at $36.21 trillion. So even if we took every dollar from every billionaire in the United States, the national debt would still be over $29 trillion dollars. |
