Since January 1st, 2024, 5700+ companies have announced mass layoffs.

Since January 1st, 2025, 190+ companies have announced mass layoffs.[Last update: January 21, 2025].

So I ask you... for how many of those layoffs did the workers have to endure the POTUS and some megalomaniac billionaire with a chainsaw and a social media company maligning them, calling them lazy and worthless, accusing them wrongfully of committing fraud, etc. etc. though multiple television appearances and social media posts?

I'll wait.

There is no F-in parallel and I'm sick of private sector people pretending they have any F-in clue what this is like.

Just amazing how humans become empathetic when it happens to them.

This has been going on in IT world since 2000. The Bush Immigration Act of 1990 was passed to import millions of cheap foreign workers to keep US wages low and both parties keep expanding H1B and then created OPT out of thin air.

And whenever we complained, we get people pounding that you are stupid, lazy, worthless, why cant you compete with cheap foreign labor. They enjoy the pain of people that have been in a career for 20 years getting replaced with cheaper labor.

Just remember, they are not putting H1Bs in your cubes as you leave. They should be doing that to save money. Then you can feel the joy of watching a 26 year employee get fired and having an H1B in his cube the next week asking in broken English how to connect to the printer.

Maybe read a little folks. Maybe have compassion for US citizens being replaced by overwhelming immigration. Stop focusing on cheap iPhones.

Can you find me something (anything?) that supports the bolded? Especially from government employees?

Gov employees might have been unaware because Government jobs were never a subject to outsourcing and in-sourcing. You had to be at least a GC holder to get any gov related jobs. Even working for contractors you had to be a US citizen.

Granted this is a chat board, not Zoom, so I have no idea, PP, if you typed this with a straight face, but are you truly unaware of how many fed jobs have been outsourced to largely GOP donor contractors over the last 30 years? Are you too young to know about the Clinton-Gore shaving down of government employees over multiple years (not overnight with a chainsaw)?

If you are going to make sweeping accusations about Feds, then maybe come with the receipts.

Thank you. There are entire government circulars and guidance for outsourcing fed jobs. Why lie about something so easily verifiable?

Yes you will argue of this is what we go through in the private sector. You miss the point. You are just used to being treated like garbage.

If you have been paying attention, companies hate workers more and more. The more money they male the more they hate us and the least they want to pay us. They have been bitc***g and mo***g about the wage growth we got post COVID and the small period where workers slightly had the upper band in their choice of employment. Then they started hating remote workers coming up with all kind of nonsensical studies about it's ineffectiveness.

It's shameful that corporations (corporations are people too remember that line) have managed to turn us into hating ourselves to the point where we turn against each other.

Honestly ask yourself. How has the existence of a fed worker render your life miserable?

Which is why it is incomprehensible that the Democrats decided boys in girls sports and defund the police were more important than an actual labor movement.

Stop lying, the little baby red hats were the ones that couldn’t stop thinking about little boys and girls and fantasizing about what happens in bathrooms.

NP. The most significant and unified action Congressional Democrats have taken since Trump was inaugurated was to protect the right of boys to play in girls sports. It’s hard to avoid the conclusion that this is the Democrat’s highest priority.

There are one or more people trying to re-write history here by refuting obvious truths.

But any mature adult with a memory remembers what the democrats have done with their opportunities to lead the administration and, at times, congress (not to mention state leadership).

No one is falling for the revisionist history or gaslighting anymore. I’d argue it’s part of what landed our country where we are now.

I am a Dem, don't support trans women participating in women's sports, but you know what? This is not a crisis. It isn't even a million miles from a crisis.

And you absolute weirdo morons thought this was more important than our democracy. More important than our economy. You suck. You suck. You suck.

NP. You seem to have a lot of trouble differentiating between your opinion and a fact. Men invading women's spaces with Democrats telling flagrant lies to give them cover is not a crisis TO YOU.

It's not a crisis period. Crisis: a time of intense difficulty, trouble, or danger.

The number of transwomen trying to play in women's sports is not a large number. That is mostly an issue about fairness, not life or death. Not intense difficulty, trouble or danger. The idea that all transwomen are a threat to women is not true. This is a "crisis" manufactured by the GOP to win elections. And you fell for it. People obsessed with trans people are weird.

Your unvarnished opinion that men raping and impregnating imprisoned women is no crisis identifies you as an evil, selfish sociopath.

Whoa Nelly. The discussion was transwomen in sports. You are psychotic to say such a thing to a stranger after pivoting from the actual topic, which is not even in the same realm. You really do suck on every level.

You'd like to focus on sports because that's an easier argument that distracts from the evil you have supported while denying there is a crisis. Let's talk about the full impact of the transgender degeneracy you have supported.

You have no idea what I have or haven't supported. You are a deranged lunatic who just keeps upping the ante with absurd accusations hurled at strangers on the internet.

And, I'm assuming, with your incredible concern for female prisoners, you recognize that the vast majority of rapes of women prisoners are not by transgender individuals -far from it- and you are working tirelessly to protect women in the prison system from people like the guards, who far more often commit this violence. Tirelessly, right?? Right??

What? It's the opposite of what my message is. I don't want any ill fate befalling anyone, I want fair workforce for everyone. I am objecting this entire "private sector is next" premise. It's the lack of acknowledgement that private sector isn't NEXT it was the FIRST. We were brewing in sh**soup for a while now. Gov related and adjacent and supported job market falling down is maybe the last card to fall..

I predict airlines will be hurting by this summer. Lack of people traveling here. The UK and Germany have issued US travel warnings. Canadians aren't coming. People don't want to leave the US, for example, colleges told employees not to leave. Many foreign students won't go home for summer. And, the lack of consumer confidence and inflation, will make people stay home.

And weirdly the trans-obsessed PP has absolutely no problem whatsoever with women violently raping other women in prison. And the other thing the trans-obsessed person probably hasn't even begun to wrap her head around is that by forcing people to use the bathroom of their "sex at birth" or whatever other definitions they keep throwing around, that means that people born female who transitioned to male who now have beards and deep voices will HAVE to use the womens bathrooms.

Assume airlines and the travel industry will be in recession by the end of the year.
