That's not a knock on her at all. I am a fan.

yes it is a knock on her. People like you want to use Taylor Swift to make a point that no matter how beautiful and rich and accomplished a woman is, she’s still subordinate to men.

Not everyone wants to deal with the press and the security that has to carry a wound repair kit. It’s a lot.

so you’re saying her one viable partner was Prince Harry?

No. What I had to say is stated above. It’s a lot to be in love with a global superstar who needs 24-7 security and is at risk of being killed. Taylor said she has to travel with a wound repair kit.

Anyone dating her has to be able to handle all that. It’s a lot, like I said.

You can’t just run to the store for ice cream. You lose some freedoms and gain others.

Wound kit is standard with anyone in the public eye that has significant security. CEOs, Stars, Politicians, Billionaires.

Great point- absolutely we should normalize this for everyone. Put a wound repair in your kid’s backpacks, your purse/bag and have them in all public areas. You never know these days!

I mean sometimes it doesn’t work (see United CEO), but it would be good to have on hand.

That said, the PP’s point about not being able to go for ice cream is true. The world is different for mega celebs, they aren’t able to operate as “normal.” That will weed out some potential boyfriends.

Does she date men shorter than she is? That is another issue that will narrow the dating pool especially if she is 5’11’.

I’m an unapologetic Swiftie but that’s insane. I can tell you from a Facebook Swiftie group I belong to (LOL!!) that it’s true. Some of these women are certifiable. But that’s on them. Taylor Swift creates a fandom but holy hell these people take it to such an extreme that it’s like watching a car crash. So I stay in the group and watch from afar.

I like Swift a lot but I have a friend who dedicated her 20s/30s to Swift and is now rounding on 38 and is unmarried without kids and I honestly think it's because she focused too much energy, attention, and money on Taylor Swift. She's seen Eras like 8 times. Back when she still used to go on dates, she'd get mad if the guy wasn't enthusiastic about Swift. Like not even a situation where he said something negative (which is a dumb move on a guy's part -- don't yuck someone else's yum) but if she told a guy she was really into Swift and he wasn't like "omg that's amazing, I also love her" she'd never go out with him again. It was a totally unrealistic expectation and reflected an obsessive focus on Swift.

Who know, maybe without Taylor Swift my friend would have found some other way to torpedo relationships. But for her it was definitely Swift-related. Recently she was begging me to go see Swift in Europe with her and I gave her a hard no several times because I have two kids and a pretty serious job and can't jet off to Europe to see a concert at this stage in my life. The begging turned to "you don't understand because you're SO LUCKY to have found a husband and had kids and I'm all alone." But while she was obsessively following Taylor Swift I was working, dating, planning my family, and building a life and home with my DH. I'm lucky to have found him but she could have been lucky in the same way. She was on Reddit posting about the latest Taylor's Version drop and spending her savings on concert tickets.

The arrested development of some Swift fans is really something. Grow up. She's just a pop star.

Assuming that if Taylor Swift didn’t exist this friend of yours would’ve had a healthy, stable life is really… something.

It seems she is ALWAYS drinking hard liquor around Travis, his teammates and their wives.

..alcohol is necessary to attend a party themed around how great my tour is. Who goes to a party themed all about work?
Weird.

She’s either an alcoholic or needs alcohol to get through contractural photo ops around her idiot jock fake boyfriend.

Tell me you’ve never worked on a huge professional project without telling me …..

I’m in accounting and we have great end of busy season parties. All my best bosses have hosted amazing parties at their homes after landing big projects, ending big projects, etc.

Who does? Normal people do. We celebrate accomplishments- yes, even work related ones.

She just finished 1.5 YEARS of international touring. Yes, she absolutely deserves/is entitled to throwing an absolute bash

I thought her tour was over and we could get past it, together, as a country.

If you are over Taylor Swift and her tour, then feel free NOT to participate in online forums with the title expressly dedicated to Taylor Swift and her tour. Problem solved!

For the rest of us - this was a surprise birthday party. It brings me great joy to see her happy and in love and surrounded by friends and family.

DP- trying to figure out why you are the arbiter of what’s “normal” or not when referencing events related to a once in a lifetime enormous multi year music tour for arguably the most famous music artist in the world

It was a surprise party! She didn’t plan it, she showed up. It was adorable!

The party seemed amazing. I’m so excited she found someone who is light and not always so deep and moody.

It’s time to have fun.

She’s crazy. Why are you even engaging with her?

She comes onto every post about Taylor and says she’s a self-centered drunk.

Imagine what has to be wrong with somebody to invest so much time on that narrative.
