What’s happening with his ex wife?

They had an acrimonious divorce. Now she speaks well of him and says she'd even vote for him...So nothing.

Ex-wife also gave an interview saying Harris was not useful as VP and thinks she should not be on the ticket, Kelly would be better president than Harris. Not very helpful comments for Kelly as he auditions for the supporting role.

I really don't see the issue here. The ex wife of a candidate doesn't have to like/dislike their running mate. Who cares?

She's a REPUBLICAN. No-one cares other than Fox News consumers.

And his daughter. Another Hunter Biden situation.

Um hardly. She did some dumb dumb stuff in her early 20s, so what. Never in any actual trouble, and is gainfully employed in NYC now.

The other side is SCARED Kelly will be selected. They should be.

If you're on good terms with your ex, you wouldn't say things publicly that hurt their prospects. What else will she say going forward?

I had to look this up. She posted about drugs once, and he sent her a perfectly fine unpleased dad text about it? I guess Mark Kelly really has very light baggage if that's being spun into some huge deal.

I don't see how this hurts his prospects.

What religious issue, and how does Michigan play into that

It’s about Gaza. Josh Shapiro is Jewish and that will not go over well in Michigan. The democrats who pulled their support from Biden over Gaza and Biden’s unconditional support of Israel will have a hard time trusting Harris and Shapiro ticket. Remember Biden and his administration went out of their way to kick the Arbs voters in the head in Michigan. The national democrats lead by the pro Israeli crowd really went hard after the Michigan arbs. Lot of bad blood there. Biden’s people could not get a meeting with the Michigan democrats. It will be hard enough to get their votes with Harris(husband Jewish and she the VP under Biden).

It may be unfair to Shapiro but after Biden’s sh#tshow in Gaza people are paying attention to what you do not what you say. Michigan may be a lost cause. If it is Harris needs Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona and Wisconsin. With Michigan and Pennsylvania they just need Arizona or Wisconsin. Kelly should give you Arizona and maybe Nevada. Shapiro gives you Pennsylvania but may rule out Michigan.

Capitalize "Democrats." Please and thank you.

I don't see how this hurts his prospects.

Two ways. 1) Do you want a VP nominee whose ex-wife is denigrating the qualifications of the Presidential nominee? 2) Her willingness to do an interview at a critical juncture and insult his potential boss suggests that acrimony remains. That adds an unknown wildcard.

Do MAGA parents not have children who self-actualize?

This is ridiculous. Keep hoping though!

What is the basis for this comment and the original post?

I always thought Kelly would add the "macho man" aspect to the ticket's image. But, what specifically is the source of this statement that Harris IS picking Kelly?
