ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

Aka he owns it

It's true that the GFR XD and board hired NM to be the TD and he is obviously well-connected to McLean/Union (and obviously DVM FC/TF) but it's not true that Union "acquired" GFR. There may be some kind of "relationship" forming between the two clubs but you would think that GFR would have learned their lesson about the benefits (or lack thereof) of being the much smaller club in a "partnership" courtesy of Loudoun/NVA.

Union parent here. I’d be thrilled if Union teamed up with Brave (especially for my DD’s age group). There are too many ECNL teams diluting the talent pool in northern Virginia. You can only develop so much… Would be nice to have a roster where every player on the bench can get in and make a difference in the game.

Also noticed that neither Union nor Brave have posted ID sessions yet even though we’re just 10 days away from March 1.

This would be horrible for current juniors at Brave to lose their club and recruiting platform at the most important time. Yes, some players are committed, but many are not. Kids play ECNL for the college recruiting. Can’t believe the league would do that to them with little notice.

That's because no one cares about the kids all they care about it money aspect of it. Its a win win for the ECNL and the Club. Hell with the kids.

Doesn’t this mean that some current Union players will lose their spots? Be sent down to lower teams or shop for other clubs?

Who will have the power of selection and what will their criteria be?

Yes, but most likely bench players. The top players on both sides will stick.

Mclean will be the one calling the shots. Just like at NVA, it's Loudoun making the calls.

So other factors will matter and the current Union players will have the best chance to stay. Look what happened with SYC. SYC boys coaches overwhelmingly picked SYC players and Mclean coaches did the same on the girls side.

Both clubs have ID sessions posted.

Also for what it’s worth Brave has stepped up their website. Highlighting signed players.

I just checked both websites and some social media and don't see any ID session details for either club. Could you share a link?

I only see sessions and staff from this current season on Unions info and Brave has yet to post anything.

Something is brewing.

I saw that link before, but is there access via the site where anybody can navigate to it if you were just browsing without the direct link?
