Of course, the idea is to derail Trump. But NH has too many angry white guys

DW and I almost always vote Dem. Looking at the VA primary we are considering voting for Haley as a vote against Trump.

In a Presidential contest of Biden v Trump, our votes go to Biden without question. If it’s Biden v Haley I think DW’s vote might go to Haley.

I'm very liberal- but as a woman in my mid forties? Haley has my vote. im in Wisconsin and I'v already started persuading every woman I know to vote for haley as well. I disagree with haley but I will vote for her b/c I think this is how we do it- the only way to get s female president is a republican and if that breaks the trump fever dream and the gop goes back to having rand Paul as resident nut job and mtg as a strom Thurmond stand in, im ok with that.

I can't stand the gas lighting im getting from the dems re:gaza, id rather be told the truth, ugly as it is, and I really think people in their dotage shouldn't make up the majority. if you are eligible for SS-go home and write your memoirs!

Please consider her stance on abortion and think of women younger than you. What good is having a woman President if all US women don’t have full rights.

DP. Actually, it is her stance on abortion that means that I might vote for her and if I don't, will be comfortable with her being president. She is not anti choice and is not in favor of a national ban. The Dems can put together a national choice bill. They're good for it.

Are you smoking crack, or just ignorant?

Three days ago Haley said she would sign a national abortion ban. From her lips, listen to it yourself:

Look at what she does, not what she says.

She says lots of dumb stuff that she doesn't mean. It's why she's not a clear favorite - but she still knows the right thing to do.

Let’s not derail this thread. She’s never going to be the GOP nominee. MAGA hates her.

But MAGA is not the GOP. If she is not the Republican candidate, then Trump has lost. NH shows that. If it becomes Haley and Biden, then it becomes more interesting.

At one point, someone posted that Biden would drop out/retire if Trump is not the Republican candidate. If that happens, if it becomes Haley and someone else, then it becomes very interesting.

MAGA is the GOP. NH is a total outlier. Trump is the nominee unless he dies. He can even campaign from jail. If for some strange reason the RNC tries to broker convention and elect Hayley then Rs lose because MAGA won’t vote for her. RNC would rather have Trump than lose.

Jail would guarantee him the Presidency. He would relish it.

No, I think for a lot of people Trump in jail would say just how serious his crimes have been. It cuts through the whole “political witch hunt it’s all lies” lies that the gop keeps pushing.

After Manafort/Gates etc, it's clear the Trump campaign's never short on criminals but I guess there's never too many criminals at a Trump party.

No, it would guarantee that idiot MAGA morons would worship him as a martyr forever, but you think normal people are signing up for that? No.

What should scare Trump is that Haley pulled nearly 2/3 of independents last night. He can't win in the general election with just the MAGA chorus.

Trump got 168k votes in the NH primary after a lot of hard campaigning...

But what's notable is that Biden still got 61k write-in votes in the NH despite not campaigning in NH and not even being on the NH ballot. That tells me there's a lot of anti-GOP passion.

And, he completely blew away Dean Phillips (22k votes) and Marianne Williamson (5k votes) who WERE on the NH Dem primary ballot. That tells me that "any Dem but Biden" is not really a thing, either.

"win" means something different to him and the maga than to the rest of us. You mean that he will not get enough votes in the general election to win the electoral college but that dos not matter to trump and his supporters. no doubt that he claims a win no matter how the voting goes and probably is cooking up another ridiculous plot to try to get himself installed in the white house.

I mean there are a few MAGA posters around here (noticeably absent today?) who occasionally dance around with various polls. But Trump's got a real problem. There is a big chunk of Republican voters who do not want to go back to the chaos and/or can't overlook his transgressions any more. They'd rather just wait Biden out for four more years and start again with a fresh GOP slate.

"Fox News voter analysis looked at 1,800 voters in the New Hampshire Republican Primary and found that over one-third of them said they would NEVER vote for former President Donald Trump."

it's 53.9% Biden, 19.6% Phillips, 4.6% Williamson and still 11.8% other write-ins, plus some 0. something others. That's 36%+ not for Biden here and pretty significant considering most people barely even know Dean Phillips. Yes, Biden was a write in but as POTUS and front runner it's a given people will write him in. I would want to know why Phillips did so well, and learn from it.

Any chance there will be a Trump-Haley debate before the SC primary?

Once the “other write-ins” are looked at it will be higher.

Zero chance. Trump won't risk it. Expect a month of sh*t-throwing from him. That's all he's capable of .
