And recovered from her eating disorder, thankfully. |

I don't really get this thread. I think there are some women who got blackballed because of Weinstein and other bad men (Annabella S, Mira Sorvino, and more) but otherwise, I think only a few people make it to the A list. Many people named here have had good solid careers. There's just a ton of content now so it's not as obvious when someone is steadily working. One of my favorite actresses is one I guarantee most people have not heard of, but if you look at her IMDB, she's steadily worked in streaming shows since 2011. She's on her third leading role in a highly acclaimed series but she's not a movie star or on the A list. But most people would kill for steady, high paying, critically acclaimed work that she's gotten.
And I think it's an absolutely brutal industry. Rachel McAdams just came out and said she deliberately stepped back even though she was offered some amazing leading roles because she needed a break. |
Matt LeBoanc’s Episodes was one of the funniest shows I have seen in years. |
Who is the actress we haven’t heard about? |
Sean Gunn (Kirk from Gilmore Girls) said it took him a decade after the show ended to find steady work again |
Emily Hampshire (probably best known for being in Schitt’s Creek) has been acting professionally in film & television on a consistent basis since she was a teenager in the mid-90s. Has almost 100 IMDB listings and at least one project a year every year since 1994. Most people have probably never heard of her but there are a lot of aspiring actors who would want that. |
Just saw MIB again and thought goddamn she is good looking |
+1 - also are you the husband obsessed with the obscure actress? |
Yes! That show did not get its due. And he was so good in it. |
Or Mindy Kaling. |
Or Chris Pratt |
He was in Parks and Rec, not any of the shows listed. |
No he was a huge child star. Huge. He just didn't stay a huge star as an adult. That's not the same thing. Its like Brooke Shields she was a huge child star and then was famous but not really in much of note. |
I agree. I literally wept in pain laughing at that show. |
