Nobody even died in this one.

You're working pretty hard to make us think this was nothing. It wasn't nothing. It's a big deal.

No more than thousands of actually-fatal accidents.

Fatalities are not the only measure of importance. This car slammed through the wall of a restaurant/bar where people were peacefully sitting, then burst into flames. To shrug and say, "eh, no one died" is crazy.

If an airplane successfully makes an emergency landing on a highway, it's news, even if no one dies. We hear all about it -- who the pilot was, what the issues with the plane were, ETC!!!!

Don't let this fade away. We deserve to know what happened.

There was a crash in downtown Bethesda several months ago. A car went up onto the sidewalk on Bethesda Ave and pinned a pedestrian under the car. There were helicopters all over and it was reported on the early news -- 4:00 -- with helicopter footage over the crash. That was it. Not a single mention of it at 5, 6 or 11 o'clock news or ever again. Just like it hadn't happened. One of my kids walked by and saw it. I saw it on the 4 o'clock news so it did happen. Makes you wonder.

Yes, there is a big conspiracy to hide car accidents. Auto lobbyists pay off news orgs to downplay stories so people still keep buying cars.

Or, it’s not big news. Car gets into accident. People get hurt. The end.

The most newsworthy aspect is that it wasn't reported on the news.

Why do you think it wasn’t reported?

Maybe someone important was driving the car? I have no idea. But it is newsworthy. I watch the news every day and this is the kind of thing they report on.

“Someone important” is driving an Uber?

You don’t have a theory about why it’s not being reported?

We've having parallel conversations. The comment was about the crash in downtown Bethesda that pinned a pedestrian under a car.

I said, I don't know -- maybe someone important was driving the car, or the person pinned under the car was important. Who knows. But it's odd that it wasn't covered extensively.

The most newsworthy aspect is that it wasn't reported on the news.

And then we demand planes fly slower, and not near populated areas? Do we even need planes?

Within 24 hours of an attempted carjacking with no one hurt we got the name of the thief.

17 people mowed down in a restaurant and not a word spilled. Amazing.

DP Someone with connections or a main job they don’t want associated with this accident

Agree this is very weird.

I see a lot of stories where news stations never update anything. All they want seems to be the sirens and flames and wreckage then it's on to the next story. I've lost count if the times I've heard or read, "stay with channel so and so for developments" and nothing else is ever heard. I like to prod them on FB or Twitter sometimes. "Hey, whatever happened to that story you promised updates on 2 weeks ago?". Typically no response, although sometimes others will also ask. Can't hurt to remind them. The more that ask, the merrier!

For all you posters suggesting this crash was related to the driver’s race or ethnicity…you are scum of the earth.

Investigation shows no drugs or alcohol involved, moron. It was a medical emergency. Judge much?

So no great conspiracy? Shocker.
