Young people entering workforce out of college are up for rude awakening after they get tired living with roomies in fun urban locations and start growing up. Even if parents help with downpayment, most of these kids would only be able to afford very basic small homes, so they might want to come back, lol

I fully expect my child to come back and live with me in my 900 square foot house so they can save money for general savings, retirement and to buy their own house. What is wrong with that. We will fully pay for college and graduate school.

So your daughter or son having sex in your 900 sf house is cool?

If they are adults/out of college and use protection, sure. My parents were with us. When I was dating my husband they invited him overnight to stay and when they went away asked him to stay with me.

When can I come over?

You are welcome to go visit my parents. We don't anymore.

So your child will remain a child and an educated fool.

No, so we teach them financial responsibility and give them a chance to build up savings and buy a house of their own. Why kick your kid out when they have a room in your house and at that point at 22-24, they need to save money to start their retirement, buy a house, emergency fund. Why have kids if you will not do those things and you can afford it?

Single mom with 2 kids in 4k sq ft home with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, basement. We don’t use all the rooms and rarely have company. The unused rooms are lightly furnished. It works for now but feel slightly disconnected from my little people.

We're gay DINKS who built a 5,000 sq. ft home in the suburbs thinking kids would be in our future. Our careers took off and over time, realized kids are probably not going to happen. We've talked about downsizing and moving closer in but there's so much about the house that we like. Sure, there are plenty of rooms that don't see much use, but we enjoy the large garage, big kitchen and nice backyard. It seems if we moved closer in, we would most likely lose a big garage and updated home. I can't see us in a condo but maybe a larger townhouse.

At first the bigger house felt too big, but it took us all of one week to be totally comfortable and used to it. It's truly wonderful having plenty of space for our family of 4 in our 8700 sqft home. We bougbt it 10 years ago and have never regretted it.

+1

PP is weird af.

When I was 15 I regularly slept over at my gf's house, in her bed, with her parents home. We smashed all night long.

I was dating a guy in college whose parents had a big home and he had his own room. But according to the rules of the house we had to stay in separate rooms, so it was super convenient that they had extra bedrooms, I was even given a choice of 2, lol

I'm glad we have extra bedrooms when my college kids' girl friend or boyfriend stay over. We have a large house for smallish family and we use the entire house. It works for us. I'm sure a smaller house would be fine as well.

My wife and I once saw a rich house for sale from a gay couple who owned it 20 years . Huge home was a 1890 home that was a two family they converted back to a one family and they owned it 20 years. Was FSBO so met owners. Almost bought it, went twice.

They had this huge horse racing fetish and used spare bedrooms to put up gay horse jockeys. They even had miniature pink bath robes for jockeys 🏇 to wear. They charged no rent to the little gay jockeys. They had all creepy pictures including nude pictures of jockeys on wall.

Funny stuff. They were nice.
