We're gay DINKS who built a 5,000 sq. ft home in the suburbs thinking kids would be in our future. Our careers took off and over time, realized kids are probably not going to happen. We've talked about downsizing and moving closer in but there's so much about the house that we like. Sure, there are plenty of rooms that don't see much use, but we enjoy the large garage, big kitchen and nice backyard. It seems if we moved closer in, we would most likely lose a big garage and updated home. I can't see us in a condo but maybe a larger townhouse.
My wife and I once saw a rich house for sale from a gay couple who owned it 20 years . Huge home was a 1890 home that was a two family they converted back to a one family and they owned it 20 years. Was FSBO so met owners. Almost bought it, went twice. They had this huge horse racing fetish and used spare bedrooms to put up gay horse jockeys. They even had miniature pink bath robes for jockeys 🏇 to wear. They charged no rent to the little gay jockeys. They had all creepy pictures including nude pictures of jockeys on wall. Funny stuff. They were nice.
