Is it possible to check if a house is a "murded house"

Anonymous
A friend of mine is interested in a house, but she thinks something happened there. Her realtor said that there is not way to know. Is this true?

Why does she think that? Have you tried google the address?

I bet if you talk to the neighbors they'll be happy to talk about it.

Do a google search for related news.

Then tell you friend to stop watching American Horror Story.

OP here, she has checked the address but found nothing, however, the house was abandoned and she found yellow tape that police used for crimes in the basement. She is going to see if a neighbor can provide some info before signing the contract.

I remember that a man who was a popular principal of a local school didn't find out until after he bought a house in Silver Spring that there'd been a double murder there. (Sad coincidence, he himself was murdered while at home in that house.) At any rate, I remember reading that he was very upset to learn about the homicide, and I also remember some discussion about whether realtors are required to disclose this sort of information. Sorry, I don't actually remember if the law requires or doesn't require disclosure.

umm, that's terrifying! I wouldn't live there.

I wonder if you called the local police precinct if they could search for any service calls from that address.

Call the local police station. They will have "case" on file if it happened after they transferred into the electronic copies.

13:06 here - I like your thinking 13:05.

When we lived in the deep south, a house in our neighborhood had a murder occur in it. And it was never solved. The home was a family home that had been passed down for generations (This was an older historic neighborhood. The house we owned was built in 1932.). The family was very wealthy. Most people, including the local police, believe that the women living in the house was killed by her brother. Apparently, he was upset that the house had gone to her and not to him. She was killed upstairs in her bedroom. And the detectives couldn't find enough evidence to even make an arrest.

I didn't believe in ghosts until I spent some time in that house.

I think it's important to note that the principal was killed by people he invited into the house through an online sex/chat line. A horrible tragedy, but it's not like murderers are targeting the house.
