HELP! interview today: wear tights with skirt-suit or bare legs??

Anonymous
ACK! I'm already dress-up-challenged, so this in-between weather has thrown me for a loop. I have my nice skirt-suit all ready to go for my interview this afternoon - should I wear tights or is it okay to go bare-legged in this weather??? Thanks!

Bare legs. Tights with a suit in a formal office doesn't work well, IMO.

wear sheer nude hose. you can never go wrong with hose.

Uh...
Hm.
I'm usually a "wear pants" kinda gal (because I never know either), but my magic 8 ball says tights with a side of "depends on the office and the length of your skirt."

Hose. You may never wear them again; they may be crazy uncomfortable, but you're lucky enough to get an interview, so just suck it up & wear them.

Pants lady from above here. This poster's right on. If you hate, hate, hate them and get the job, never wear them again.

I have no idea what PP is talking about. Bare legs are rarely the answer in a professional setting.

It's almost impossible to dress TOO formally for an interview. Look to the Queen for guidance. Would she go out with bare legs? Perish the thought. I would go with a dark sheer nylon, maybe with a subtle pattern.

Don't take this advice. It is always better to err on the conservative side for an interview. Patterned hose can run the gamut from trashy, fishnet-eqsue to teeny bopper to office appropriate. If you are "dress challenged" as you say, don't gamble. You might choose wrong.

Sheer, nude hose is the only way to go unless you are wearing a pantsuit. And even with a pantsuit, I might wear knee highs.

OP here - the tights are dark grey, no pattern, and go well with the suit (small b&w checks) - I've worn it before to interviews in the winter, when it was clearly tights weather, and I've worn the suit without when it was summer and clearly bare-legs weather -- just confused about what to wear in this low-to-mid 70s weather. Hose are out of the question (don't have any, no time to get any, hate them with a passion and will almost certainly get snags and runs in them by the time I get from my car to the office) -- so tights it is. Thanks!

You can't stop at CVS en route to the interview and buy a pair of hose and make it from car to interview snag free? Do you have to run through a bramble bush on the way? Seriously? Are you a grown up? Buy an extra pair of hose and stash them in your purse for insurance. You will look like a fool wearing dark gray tights on a 70 degree sunny day.

Don't wear "tights," wear panty hose.

DO. NOT. WEAR. TIGHTS to an interview. You've made the mistake before, don't make it again.

Agree, hose.
