What a surprise.
Am totally waiting to learn if the ICE thugs get their 50k sign on bonuses.

When you sell your soul to the Devil, don't expect the Devil to play fair.

People are so short-sighted that they need to learn to be a little less trusting of the Big Government machine.

If they are incapable of the kind of complex thinking skills needed to discern the basic principle of what goes around comes around, before they decide to do bad things to others, in the name of being a true patriot, then please let them all come to intimately understand through firsthand experience that the Government has the ability to capricously and arbitrarily, squash you like a bug for no other reason than because it can.

Respect the power and do nothing to actively undermine the protections baked into our Constitution that protect your and your neighbors' rights, because the rights you help to trample on today may just be the rights you need to save your backside tomorrow.

But we've not giving them anything.

We're giving them bupkis.
Evah heard of bupkis?

I thought MAGA said immigrants were taking jobs away from Americans. Now Rs want visas for these immigrant construction workers.

Trump deportation surge left Texas with shortage of home builders.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is pushing to give special visas to construction workers, given that the Trump administration’s deportation campaign is reportedly causing a labor shortage on construction sites in states like Texas.

The Essential Workers for Economic Advancement Act, introduced in September, would offer non-citizens temporary, renewable visas for up to nine years to work in key industries where employers are struggling to hire.

“That would help us protect and get immigrants legally for those in the construction industry,” Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-TX) told Nexstar.

De La Cruz was part of a group of South Texas leaders who met with House Speaker Mike Johnson this week to discuss the proposal, as home builders in the state warn of slowing construction times and difficulty hiring over fears of immigration raids.

Immigrants, legal and otherwise, make up more than half the construction workforce in states like Texas, California, Florida, and New York, according to the National Association of Home Builders.

Considering ICE kidnaps innocent children and mothers, I wish these workers the best of luck with not getting detained and thrown into a jail with feces-encrusted toilets and aluminum foil for a blanket.

A Colombian child who came here legally to visit Disney was detained for four months. She had a return ticket home. The mother lives in the US, is married to a US citizen, has a current visa, and is awaiting her green card. Despite this, they kidnapped both and locked them up for four months.

So, yeah, good luck to anyone with a visa.

Doesn't Amazon hire people so they can fire them rather than lose good employees to the quota? Maybe MAGA needs to bring immigrant workers here so ICE can reach their deportation quotas.

Dictators usually censor media.

I ask that daily. BBC and Guardian have a lot more critical articles and don't sanewash Trump as much. But the US government can squash a media company like a bug, and CBS and co are choosing to bend at the knee.

The U.S. used to do this for other countries when they were being overrun by fascists too. Remember Radio Free Europe and Voice of America?

Remember also that in March 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to dismantle the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which resulted in the temporary shutdown and suspension of operations for the Voice of America (VOA), along with other U.S.-funded broadcasters like Radio Free Asia (RFA) and Radio Free Europe. The order halted 83 years of continuous broadcasting. The courts have stopped him, but the agency is crippled.

You didn't watch Trump speak just now. In fact, Kavanaugh made tariffs official. We just going to do them a different way, which is annoying because it 's more complicated, but they will be potentially higher than before. Yup. He spun it as a victory.

I'm not sure they will work out. There will be tons of lawsuits.
