Entertainment and Pop Culture
Thanks! This was such a cute article and really injected some "realness" to this discussion. |
What? It’s a superficial interaction with a fan |
|
Donna is enjoying the fame herself- girlfriend is in a soup commercial.
How much time do you spend paying attention to the people behind you at a sporting event? Did she have her selfie camera on the whole time? |
Random people? Not much. Taylor Swift? I'd definitely be paying attention as discreetly as I could. Most people would be trying to keep it chill to various levels but also hyper aware of what the mega celebrity is doing behind them |
| She better not be at the Buffalo game Sunday - too distracting. Let's just focus on football! |
DP. Are you familiar with Harry Styles? |
DP. This is so obvious that I can’t believe people are skeptical. All professional athletes have relatively short shelf lives and football is amongst the shortest. He’s too cheesy to get a real acting career going and has no acting experience. If Joe, who was already a trained actor, couldn’t make it happen he can’t either. |
Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos aren’t in entertainment. She doesn’t beard for money it’s to continue her fan’s parasocial relationship with her which drives engagement for all of her projects. |
When she “dated” Taylor Lautner while they were promoting a movie together. The Tom Hiddleston one was something weird too. Although perhaps that was more about spinning her breakup with Calvin Harris than an actual contract relationship. |
| She was like 18 when she dated Taylor Lautner. That was a WHOLE different life. |
I don't know. Have you ever been to a concert or a sporting event and got really swept up and had a bonding experience with the total strangers around you? It's just freaking fun. Those women will remember this forever and Taylor and Brittany were obviously having a genuinely good time. I love experiences like that and it's just a bonus they got to have it with the most famous musician in the country right now. |
Looks like Jason was more the distraction. But I don't care. They all had a blast. |
Taylor attends a game, waves at fans, sings along to the stadiuim music and is touted a distraction. Jason Kelce rips off a shirt, jumps out of the box, chugs beer, holds up random kids and is celebrated. Huge double standard. FWIW I love both of them. |
| Been listening to the heights podcast lately and I have to say, other than being a pretty face, I have no idea what TS sees in Travis. He's kind of goofy and just doesn't have the natural charisma of Jason, who could clearly have a career in broadcasting if he decides to retire. Sure he seems fun and he's obviously a great athlete, it kind of doesn't go any deeper than that. I don't know how long these two will last. Before I started listening to the podcast, I hadn't really heard him talk much and now that I have, yikes, it has kind of ruined it for me. I don't know how long these two will last. She seems a little too cerebral for him but maybe it works. |
I don't think they'll go the distance, but it seems to work for her for right now. She's recently out of a multi-year relationship with a dude who wanted nothing to do with her public persona; Travis is the opposite. I think she's just having fun (and good for her). I'm guessing Travis is similar - he knows she's out of his league long-term, but it's fun for now, and I'm sure it doesn't hurt that she boosts his profile for the Rock-esque post NFL second act he seems to be shooting for. |
