Access Hollywood has an interview with the Obama family, including Malia and Sasha. The girls are adorable. Check it out here:

Cute, yes, but Obama's decision to put his kids "out there" in this way has diminished my respect for him. |
Access Hollywood? There's a great source for you. |
What? Are you suggesting the interview is faked? I don't understand your problem. As for "putting the kids out there", that's why its Access Hollywood. Softball questions in a non-threatening environment. Maria and I have been interviewed for national TV with our kids (though it never aired). Does that make you respect us less? |
Since you asked, yes. |
Oh, in that case I'll go away and sulk. |
Sorry. How about a lollipop? |
I would think this is a strategy to reach the rest of the apolitical Americans who don't follow all the ups and downs of the campaign trail. I think it is also an approach to show that they are an all-American nuclear family, with normal well-adjusted kids, since it seems many people try to make his ethnic background a political liability. |
They are adorable. Does this make him more qualified for President? |
As it turns out, Obama says it was a mistake made in a feel-good moment. He still wants to keep the kids out of the campaign. Click here for the story.

I don't think it makes him more qualified to be president. However, much of American politics is character driven. Many people have very a limited understanding of political issues and vote based on the candidate's personality. Remember the saying that Bush won because more people thought he would be a better guy to have a beer with? A good impression of a candidate's family could make some feel more comfortable with him. Gosh, I'm surprised at many of the reactions here. Its almost as if some of you resent that the guy has two cute kids. |
Since Obama himself says he won't be putting the girls out there again, Jeff, I think he understands the mixed message. You cannot say you want to keep your children out of the spotlight and keep their lives normal and then put them on Access Hollywood. |

I did not like it and I am glad that he realizes his "mistake". Putting those kids on televison will just make them fair game for the press. Until the kids are old enough to make theie own decisions their lives should be as private as possible. |
Its almost as if some of you resent that the guy has two cute kids.
My kids are both cuter than theirs. But I LOVE OBAMA. |
