You are a career politician. You know better than to have a sign with the N word on your property. Why didn't you take a jackhammer to it when you first got the camp? Come on we are going TK be arguing about when a coat of paint was applied and whether it was sufficient. Decent people do not leave such things on their property.

Keep slinging mud Washinton Post... you'll nail those racist, homophobe Republicans and Tea Party rednecks for sure...

"A number of claims made in the story are incorrect, inconsistent, and anonymous, including the implication that Rick Perry brought groups to the lease when the word on the rock was still visible. The one consistent fact in the story is that the word on a rock was painted over and obscured many years ago.

"Governor Perry and his family never owned, controlled or managed the property referenced in the Washington Post story. The 42,000-acre ranch is owned by the Hendricks Home for Children, a West Texas charity.

"Perry’s father painted over offensive language on a rock soon after leasing the 1,000-acre parcel in the early 1980s. When Governor Perry was party to the hunting lease from 1997 to 2007, the property was described as northern pasture. He has not been to the property since 2006.

“In 1991 the Texas Legislature passed a bill to rename old, offensive place names."

Mudslinging? The guy brought it on himself. A career politician should not have that thing lying around for anyone to see. His own damn fault.

The Perry campaign claims the sign had been painted over in the early 1980s soon after Perry’s father, Ray, leased the rights to the property. The Washington Post story, however, included many eyewitness accounts of the rock with the offensive name having been visible in recent years. Also, the black name was painted over in white on the rock, through which it was recently still visible. What not get rid of a rock with such insensitive fare???

Any ione who does not think this story is disgusting and insensitive in the EXTREME is a total ass. Frankly, any one with any commen decency or sense would have REFUSED TO LEASE this property althogther from a organization, charity or not, that allowed such a name to exist for it. Parry's family money was paying money to a racist organization to use their land.

I am totally appalled that this guy is actually running for president!!!

Would a photo tell you when it was painted over?

It would certainly add a shred of credibility to all the lame charges being slung around here with anonymous sources and puffed up finger pointing...

What a great piece of investigative work. All those anonymous sources make it true doesn't it?

It looks like blacks won't vote for him except Cain. I am sure they were really concerned about losing that vote.
