Yorktown was up 11-5 in 3rd - game looked like a blowout.
Then Langley with the comeback but fell short Yorktown 15-13 for another District Championship (feels like a lot in a row now) |
| Number 30 on Yorktown is my MVP of the night. Plays offense with such finesse. |
| Heard they are making a “last dance” documentary of number 7 on Yorktown |
|
Learned what seemingly most people on here have known for weeks. Langley’s defense is not good. Their offense is legit.
Yorktown plays as hard as possible early to the point of being gassed and hoping they scored enough to hang on through the second half. Not sure how their goalie got first team over McLean’s goalie. 7 is a really tough kid. |
Okay Mr McLean dad |

Madison 20 Chantilly 7
Robinson 17 West Potomac 2 |
| Impressive win from Yorktown, managing to fight through an off night from their stellar goalie. Langley will be a tough out, their offense is legit. 2 was stinging corners all over the place |
| Region D semis should be Madison/Langley and Yorktown/McLean. Yorktown should cruise. Madison/Langley could be a shootout. |
Agree impressive win from the Patriots, defense and goalie were stellar as usual. The offense played well in settled 6v6 but really killed Langley on the intangibles and in transition. This region should continue to be fun to watch coming up! |
| Any predictions for semi’s games? I also disagree entirely with the post about Yorktown giving all their effort in one half as well as the statement about the goalie. Langley is not a bad team and by saying what you said you’re diminishing the fact that they are a legit contender. Was a great match both ways and Yorktowns goalie is very deserving of the first team all district honors as well as probably being the top candidate for first team all region |
Agreed. Yorktown played hard all game and Langley just never quit. Yorktown goalie had some quality stuffs on the doorstep that sealed the win. Gotta say Madison and Yorktown in the finals. McLean has no shot. I think Langley could make it interesting but their defense needs to be a lot better. Don’t understand them playing a shortie on the POY. |
Haha. Try again. |
I think McLean’s chances hinge on whether #4 is back on the field. He gives them a second legit scoring option and opens things up for their attack. If he is still out then I agree their chances are slim |
| That po dunk Prince William County team Forest Park (15-2) with only losses to Brentsville and Battlefield deserves a little more respect. They beat Colgan by more goals then Woodson, 3 times now. And everyone loves on Woodson here. FP aren't the best or most talented but play together and don't give up. Having a Stevenson commit pole doesn't hurt either. I'm not a Forest Park parent.... |
