Why does she still insist on calling herself “Mami”?!
Also I feel like she is trying to use the accent again in her stories about the Amy Schumer thing...*eyeroll*

Maybe she’s going for the Professor Ross thing where he tried to fade out his fake accent?

A white privileged woman, who grew up the daughter of rich parents, a doctor and a lawyer respectively, went to The Cambridge School of Weston and lived a privileged life. Decides suddenly to change her name and appropriate Latino culture. This is not OK

How are you impacted, White woman?

Wait, aren’t we all supposed to be anti-appropriation? Or is it just POC that need to speak up and the rest of us can look away?

"I grew up in a Midwestern family that relocated to the East Coast of the United States when I was still an infant.... My path in life has been heavily influenced by Spanish language and culture, and not because I have an iota of latin blood in my veins."

This is gold!
wouldnt this strengthen her case? Like oh, her father was so influenced by Spain and Spanish culture and so he raised her with it?

Exactly. And likely this is the truth. I get it; when I lived overseas I inadvertently started taking on the accent and gestured of the country I lived in for 7 years. It wasn’t intentional. And when I returned to the states it took a bit to shed that.

This would have made sense if Hilary actually grew up in Spain. But she didn’t. Vacationing there for a few weeks each summer doesn’t count. Hilary also didn’t adopt the fake accent until she met Alec.

Is this her crisis agency’s million dollar spin? She’s isn’t some impressionable teen who took on a fake accent, she’s a grown *** pathological scammer.
