Bravo. You nailed it. Have always seen something distinctly femme about Vance, but couldn't quite summarize it.

Agree he'd love to be seen as "country," but his total lack of masculinity puts the kibosh on that.

It would actually not be all that far-fetched to presume his mom abused substances while she was pregnant.

I don't think it breeds sociopathy in all cases, but every sociopath origin story I've read seems to start with something like that.
