Got this list e-mailed to me today. I was surprised by how many desired schools (Brent, Murch, Bancroft) still had seats available (1st # is PK, 2nd is PS):

Hmm. DC was on the waitlist at Bancroft (WAY down), yet never got a call... and on the WL for Spanish program at Cleveland... again, no call (don't know if that's what the * is for)

Ditto PP. We were on the WL for Bancroft, Cleveland (Spanish), and Barnard PS and never got a call at any of these! Our numbers at Cleveland and Barnard were in the double digits, Bancroft 100's. Why didn't we get a call? At this point we are settled in a charter but it seems wrong that this list is being published w/o going through WLs! Doesn't it?

Asterisk means some classrooms are using Tools of the Mind.

Our number was lower than 20 at cleveland, and we haven't heard a peep.

I think these some of these are the slots that were designated for special education i.e. inclusion spots that were not needed and just released.

But, shouldn't they be using the waitlist still?

I think at this point, they realize school has started for most people, so its easier to just do a mass email rather than calling down the waitlist.

I have gotten no emails either. Should it really be about what is "easiest"? There is a wait list. They should follow it.

OP, thanks! Your list seems to be alpha order and stops in the Ps. Do you have additional listings for the later-alphabet schools? And what kind of communication did this come from? Something official from DCPS or intel a friend in the know kindly shared with you?

FYI, the Cleveland Spanish biligual classes are full. These openings are in the English side.

Just called one of theses schools where DC has a single digit waitlist number apparently this list has many errors. the school has received many calls and the secretary told me that she's heard the other schools have too.

I called Central Office. The schools are following the waitlists.

Murch doesn't have a spot. We are inbounds with siblings on the waitlist so I have been in there every day checking. Shouldn't have been on the list.

Checked with Cooke this morning. They have slots open, but are waiting for people to call them back from the waitlist. They are going in order. Central pulled open slots without checking waitlist status.
