¡Olé!
Poser. |
Poseur! |
Poisson? That actually would be a good asset. Where are there good fish tacos in DC? |
There are no good reasonably-priced Mexican places in DC. Oyamel is quite good, but not cheap.
I get that this is just a quirk of which immigrant groups moved to the Washington region, but it is a shame. Cactus Cantina is utter garbage. |
What's wrong with Guapo's? Must everything be upscale? The last thing we want is more upscalish corporate chains moving in -- Rosa Mexicana anyone? |
Many of us (including GDS parents) would love to see Tenelytown be more like, for example, Harvard Square. |
We love Guapos! |
Or a P.F. Chang's. Corporachinese cuisine. |
Rosa Mexicana was in the neighborhood, just up the street from GDS on Wisconsin. It failed. Make of that what you will -- I don't think 300 extra units of housing is going to support another high-end restaurant in the hood. |
Rosa Mexicana was overpriced and not high end, worst of both worlds. That is why it failed.
|
If they did poisson tacos we'd go there, but it will take GDS to get us a place with such upscale fare.
|
What about an upscale Kosher restaurant? That would do extremely well. |
Who keeps kosher around here? A deli would be nice, though. |
Not the Team of Aces. They run pork barbecue places.
|
There are many GDS families with Harvard ties, who no doubt miss the buzz of Cambridge. Harvard Sq. wasn't always so upscale, but at least it didn't have a lot of mattress stores like dumpy Tenleytown. |
